Travel nursing with children

I have never been a travel nurse because I have a school-age daughter, but I am looking into it seriously now because I have decided to homeschool her. I had a younger friend who was willing to come along on some travel assignments to watch my daughter while I work, but she has since started college.

Also, if anyone has any other tips or ideas on how to travel alone with a nine year old, or any affordable childcare options that work with nurses hours, I'm open to suggestion!

Thanks!

It may or may not be legal to leave a nine year old alone (there is a lot of gray areas here), but you probably would be in hot water if anything should happen to her unattended. Of course, the same is true now when she is not at school, right?

Still, it would be a difficult task to home school and work full time. The only suggestion I can offer is to Google home school forums as this question is no doubt addressed often. I'm sure it has been done.

Just to give you an example to make almost anything seem possible, in my class at nursing school we had a fifty something woman who graduated with us who worked full time, had seven kids at home, and an absent husband who did not contribute. I assume some of her older kids helped out but still if you want inspiration!

I don't have any children, but by your post, I don't think it would be such a good idea to go alone with your daughter. This world is getting crazier by the day. You would either have to pay for child care or leave her in the hands of strangers.

Do you have any available family member that would like to travel with you?

I'm traveling with my 6 year old daughter and husband. I can't imagine traveling without a partner. You will need someone to help you with your child. I'm working and my hubby is staying home and homeschooling my daughter while we move around. Being in a new and unfamiliar place, I don't even want to leave my daughter at a play group alone, let alone 12 hours. Just my opinion...I think it would be difficult.

They have a very great outcome with everything that they are into. I have seen people doing it especially when i was through and experienced these things which stayed quite reasonable for me and i fine it a decent profession to be in.
