Very first travel assignment I took was with Supplemental!!(1989) I loved Kathy-not sure she is still there. Always found then to be honest and upfront. At the time they offerd absolutely wonderful benefits-can't find those today, I doubt they still provide them, but would advise you ask and understand what they are offering--I would trust the answers (but still get it in writing)

I am a traveler and work with lots of other travelers. Just this week, 2 days before Thanksgiving, had a new traveler come to town, with Supplemental. His apartment was not ready, he could not get a hotel because of the holidays and ended up going home with the charge nurse and staying at their house for 2 days until he could get a hotel. As far as I know, he still does not have an apartment (as of yesterday), and is just thinking about going home. He has had to pay all his travel and housing so far out of pocket. He kept getting the run around with the agency about it being the holidays and people who handled housing were all off. RIGHT!!!!! I really want to work for them.I don't know about other agencies, but with RN Network, they have a 24 hour housing emergency number. I blew a transmission on the way to my current assignment, and they actually fronted me a weeks salary and all travel expences to get me here on time. Now THAT is customer service!

Hey Dixielee:

I'm considering travel nursing in the future. I love my job but the pay is embarrassing however it has great benefits. Anyways... the only thing holding me back w/ travel nursing is the benefits. Does RN Network have good insurance? My wife and me have no children. ANyways... please feel free to PM anytime for any info on travel nursing and RN Network. How's their private housing, pay, and recruiters? Thank you in advance.

I loved both Kelly and Kathy (1989 as well). Think at least one of them moved to Florida. Thinking about traveling again for awhile. I've been rooted down for awhile now.

I talked to Supplemental last summer after meeting a traveler who worked for them. I quit talking to them when I found out I'd have to find my own housing. I'm with On Assignment and they find mine for me, quite nice usually, and totally furnished. I do NOT want to truck my stuff all over the country, or try to find housing in places I don't know.

Hi,

I am a potential new traveler (July) and I talked with Supplemental for over 3 weeks. I did lots of research, asked questions, even called the Better Business Bureau ... all good reports. However this past week I get a call stating that they can't reach any of my references.

After the end of the 2nd week I contacted another agency and they have called ALL the same references (contacted them with NO problems) and have interviewed me and sent my paperwork to 2 hospitals and I have had 1 interview.

Was it a bad day for them I don't know but it sure discouraged me. As the same with all things, people have their own positive and negative experiences just make sure you read and HEAR all the fine print.

Good luck!!!!

I have been with supplemental for almost a year now. They have been good to me until I injured my hip.I have a stress fracture in my hip and have been on cructhes for 3 weeks now and 3 weeks left to go. WIth all of this going on, they have not found another job for me, did not pay my december housing and utilites, and they are now going to make me pay for my health insurance that is really needed at this time. And I have not been receiving any type of income. When I called to talk about some type of short term disabilty.... they told that there was nothing that they could do and for me to "go find an outside job." I have recently had to go into my own 401K for money... So when the times get tough, they are not there for you...... I wouldnt recommend them, and I am currently looking for another agency to work for....
