SOS: FL Hospitals to Avoid!

Which hospitals should I avoid in FL? There are, of course, a TON of poorly paying contracts in FL right now and I'd like to know which facilities are unpleasant. Thanks!

PS I worked for Broward General, Holy Cross(Ft. Lauderdale) and Baptist(in Miami) down there. Not bad places to work at all. I heard Aventura was a nightmare but I never worked there

Broward in FTL requires PBDS. I have earned a RN diploma, BSN, and master's degree. So, I'm pretty confident that I can pass it. HOWEVER, I am not going to uproot myself from the Northeast, trek to FTL, and, for some reason, not pass. It would be one thing if the hospitals in Florida paid, but, well, they don't.

It must be a new requirement. I didn't have to take it when I worked there and that was in 2009/2010

I will end up having to try. I'm just afraid to get there, lease an apartment, fail it and then have my contract cancelled. My friend is at Lee Memorial and said half of her orientation class was canceled after failing the test. So I'm a little apprehensive. BayCare does require it then?

You'll pass

Baycare does not require PBDS. It also does not provide beachfront property, but waterfront property. It is still nice.

This may be a stupid question, but what is the difference between beachfront and waterfront? Is waterfront more like around a lake than a beach?

Also, would anyone be willing to discuss the pay range for BayCare? This seems like a place I would like to experience!

The housing is on the bay, which isn't a beach but a body of water/inlet in the metropolitan area. I lived there and it was nice, but it's not like you can step out and lay on sand. Base pay with housing is $35/hr. without housing provided $40. $5 shift diff for nights. On a contract you are guaranteed 60 hrs every two weeks and are required to float within your specialty to other floors and hospitals in the system. If you have any ?s PM me I can also give you the contact info for the mgr. they are actively seeking nurses right now.
