Default Re: Peds nurse in New Orleans
I have a good friend who works at Children's in N.O. in the PICU. She nearly left due to problems with her schedule. They want nurses to alternate days and nights from week to week and this was just too much for her. (Even tho there were other nurse who just wanted to do nights and those, like her, with a family, who just wanted to do days, the manager was on a power trip and refused to accomodate her nurses). Finally, she put in her resignation but the manager convinced her to stay when she promised to give her days. There were other problems also.
I'd imagine that if you don't mind this PM/AM switch, then you'll be ok.
It's just three month.
N.O. is still a wonderful city to spend three months exploring (perhaps not to live in but to visit). You can meet people so easily and dine on the most wonderful cuisine! The architecture is unique as is the rich and quirky culture. Enjoy.

If you decide to go, let me know and I'll give you the name of my friend to touch base with when you arrive.
