I just interviewed with a hospital in CA yesterday. Sounded ok. $1100/week take home, LDRP.(I really want more money and only L&D). Was very excited to get my first interview though. But another agency also submitted me to other hospitals that may have better offers. ie $1300-1500, and L&D. I have not interviewed with them as yet. Hopefully soon. How long do I have to let the first hospital know my intentions. I don't want to upset anyone as I may need them later down the road.

i am kind of in the same boat right now... although travel agencies cant expect nurses not to look around and check out all options, (we would be silly not to, i think). i'm currently talking with 2 companies, the first really helped me out getting everything in order and have been so great answering all my questions and after months of waiting for documents and licenses, im finally ready to go and i'm thinking about taking an assignment with another company who i just have a better feeling about.

i dont think there is a set time in which you need to let the first company know... perhaps when you have secured the job with the other company, thank the first company for their help and support but explain that you have recieved another offer that better suits your needs at this time?

Thanks for your input. I am in the typing up a email to send to all the people that has works so hard for me. And I like the way you worded that.

It usually takes at least 2 weeks to get contract. Also you can set start date so your current employer can get their 2week notice.

It is considered good form to decline or accept an offer in 48. Hrs but some facilities require 24.FYI 1100 a week is ridiculously low in ca

Specializes in ICU/PACU.

Is the 1100/week take home including your stipend? If so that is too low. You won't be making much and CA housing is high.

I got an increase because of dress code and need. I guess I'm going to just wait and see what I get and use this as beginning which it is. Then I know what to ask for next. My recruiter has been awesome.
