Never traveled, enlighten me!

I have been thinking about travel nursing for awhile. I have talked with a consultant for over an hour asking questions. This position sounds very appealing with everything we talked about. I am probably 80% sure I'm going to do this. However, I do not know anyone on these journeys. So, I would like to know from these nurses, what are the pros/cons of this position. Do you prefer to drive or fly? Do you use the housing provided or find your own? How is the environment when an "agency nurse" is on the floor? I welcome all the info I can get!

Have a happy day!

I travel with my wife an we bought an RV to travel in. Most other travelers drive their own vehicle. I like finding my own housing when not in the RV because I often find it for half what they offer. Craigslist is helpful for that. For example, I'm getting 2400/month for housing and paying 1000.Some travelers don't do that. I guess it's just preference.

I never get treated differently, in fact most people are aware you are a traveler and are helpful with getting you aquatinted.

Biggest advice I can give you. When offered a position, ALWAYS look up that hospital and reviews from other travelers. It will save you from getting stuck at a crappy place for 12 weeks or more. Make sure it's a good hospital before you accept.
