My first assignment was at a hospital where snowbirds came and doubled the town's population every winter so they heavily recruited MDs and RNs for 3-6mo assignments and travel positions. - Aug 16, '12 by NedRNMDS stands for minimum data set, a comprehensive patient report. Nurses who do this in LTC are very specialized. They are not MDs. MDs who travel are called locums, short for locum tenens.
