Are the majority of travel jos night shift????

by bise75

I was wondering if the majority of travel nurses work night shift. I have always been a day person-get up early and go to bed early. I have taken my first travel position and work 7p. I like it so far except I have not adjusted to when to sleep. I have asked my recruiter if she would have any day shift positions for my next assignment and she said they were limited but when the time came she would try to find something. So I would like to kow if there are travel companies that have more day positions than others. Thanks in advance.

I have worked a lot of 11 am to 11pm shifts as wll as 3p-3a shifts in the ER, some specialties have off hours and you may want to try them, I think most travel jobs do seem to be at night or a variaion of nights, but not all. I know there are lots of day spots in Arizona now for the winter rush. Just check around and you can find something that works for you.

I also found that it depended on the area you work in. I also found I mostly had offers of evenings for the ER whereas in the ICU I could pick my shift. OR & Cath Lab are obviously days (with call).

I am a fairly new traveler but only work day shift. There are more positions to be had on night shift, but I only work day shift and there are still plenty of positions to be had.
