anyone in the Las Vegas region whats your opinion on the hospitals over there? specificly has anyone been to sunrise hospital? whats your opinion?

I am finishing my second assignment in the IMC and it hasn't been a bad assignment. The staff is very friendly and helpful to travelers. I have not have to float for the entire six months (knock on wood) and pt ratio is 5/1 at this time with a tech to help. Hope this helps.

Personally, I think the healthcare in Vegas is scary! When I was there on assignment (at Valley in the IMC) it was HORRIBLE! (I was there for my first assignment in 2001). Told everyone there if I got sick: SHIP ME OUT!!!! Lazy CNA's, staff didn't know what the heck they were doing (one RN actually played a LARGE part in a patient dying!!!), management............well, they didn't actual manage!..........was like a turnstyle! The IMC at Valley had 5 managers in 18 months. The one that was there when I was left in the middle of my assignment!

Have heard most of the other hospital are nearly the same. There are some good floors, but very few. Have a traveler friend who was with me at Valley that said Sunrise was a little better.

You might try the new hospital that they have opened there. I don't remember what it is called, though. Have also heard the St. Rose (in Henderson) has finally started taking travelers. They say it is very nice there.

Specializes in ICU, psych, corrections.

I've heard good things about St. Rose and Mountain View.
