Hi,Dear sister:
Could anybody help?
I'm new grad nurse and want to try to join travel nurse team,I know
there are some requirment for to be a travel nurse.The company Juno
contact me for a opportunety in CA hospital which hire non-skill new
grad RN but assessment last for 6 month (plus training education to
new RN by hospital),and that will be 12 hrs shift a day,the rate for
non-skill nurse is $450/day,the skill nurse is $520/day.The housing is
by agancy......sound too great for me,I,m so afraid that will be some
tricks.I even check this company web site and find out Juno even apply
for foriegn nurse,help them to pass NCLEX and get legal status in USA
work as travel nurse.
I do'nt need the company sponsor me for legal status to work in USA,
but I dont know if I have to trust the company.Did someone hear any
information about this company?Please let me know.....please......

Are you coming to the US from another country? If so, you may want to post this question also in the International Nurses section of this forum. There may be more nurses there who are familiar with the agencies that help nurses come to the US and what a fair contract would be.

Thanks for your response.I live in NY city and just got RN license.I want to find jobs so post my resume at monster.com.The Juno contact me,I never and ever hear Juno healthcare staffing, I check Juno web and find out Juno not only provide for travel nurse.relocate and also be sponsor for foreign nurse.I do'nt need the sponsor but I am really interested to be nurse nurse,like I said before I'm new grad and no experience,so,the CA job which Juno offer me is too good to be believe.What did you think?Should I try to trust Juno?I really have no idea.....please help........anyone......

Personally, I think taking a regular old staff job is a better bet, especially as you dont need any sponsership etc. O'Grady Peyton (I think) has also done this, but you aren't traveling, you are just essentially being staff for one year at one place.
Most hospitals will offer you all that Juno offers, and may even provide better on some things, such as relocation, health insurance, or continuing education. Many hospitals even offer student loan repayment if you work for a certain amount of time. Juno and other companies that do this may choose to place you in a place that has a lot of trouble getting and keeping nurses, so in some ways, yes, it could be too good to be entirely true. If you are interested in relocating to California, I'd simply look to the area you want to go and see who is hiring.

I have some inquiries regarding juno as well. You see they contacted me as well. They called and email me. Personally, i want to try the agency myself.

My question is :

Where you able to sign a contract with them?

Is it true about the offers they made to you?

Hospitals never want to accept new grads in their facilities as travel nurses as they want seasoned nurses that can function without any orientation. Travel contracts are also for 13 week contracts, you do not see them being offered for six months when someone is starting out.

And are they placing you in a hospital or a nursing home?

Travel assignments are never good for a new nurse starting out and most agencies will not even touch a nurse without one to two years of solid experience behind them. Travel assignments that are true travel assignments also never offer orientation as well, you are expected to hit the floor without anything needed. This is not a travel contract but something that would be going to a regular nurse under contract.

You should always double check online about the company. Check in Facebook or other sites about the legitimacy of the company. Check their website and see if they have a Joint of Commission seal or something. Have some friends who have been sponsored by them.
