Is NovaPro basically the same as Cross Country?

I've heard NovaPro is an off-shoot of Cross Country.

Does this mean they have the same assignments, same pay, same benefits?

If I'm in touch with a NovaPro recruiter and I like her, is it totally redundant to get in touch with Cross Country also?

Yes. They are owned by Cross Country and will have access to the same assignments. No need to deal with both.

Thanks. Are there other companies that are owned by Cross Country?

The difference between the different companies usually lies in benefits and pay. Cross Country is more about benefits and Nova Pro is more about a bigger salary.

Same with the AMN companies of American Mobile, O'Grady Peyton, and Nurse Choice. American Mobile is more benefits, O'Grady Peyton is more on the International side, Nurse Choice is more on salary and rapid response.

I have worked (and working) with both companies and they both have the exact same listings on their websites. And yes, they even offer the same benefits and pay rates, at least for the 2 assignments I inquired about. I didn't feel the need to compare their rates any further after that. I do like my recruiter at NovaPro better, but Cross Country offers more perks and even has frequent giveaways via their Facebook page for current travelers :twocents:

Interesting. So both companies would offer the same health insurance plan?

That's the main reason I'd feel the need to contact Cross Country as well - to see if they have a better health insurance plan.

If you contact them, please let us all know who has the better health insurance plan!

Thanks everyone for all the comments. I am looking to travel nurse in the near future. As an ICU nurse I am hoping to have some good choices for travel in the U.S.

Keep the posts coming :)

Quick question. Can a nurse with an Associate's Degree work as a traveler at a Magnet Hospital?

Thanks.

Specializes in Oncology/Haemetology/HIV.

As an ADN, I have worked at many Magnet hospitals. I'm staff at one now.

It isn't so much the Magnet status as the actual hospital and the current economy. When you have large number of travelers and few jobs, one can require BSN only.

God I hope so. Can you imagine an all BSN hospital?? Just kidding, I have worked with some very good nurses who were BSN and some who were not so good. I appreciate the added education, if that's how you want to go, but I am a Registered Nurse no matter what, until they change their licensing to require a BS to be a Nurse.
