International Nursing

I know I've seen information in the past particularly with American Mobile regarding international travel nursing, but all I can find now is international nursing pertaining to nurses coming to the US.
I want to go to England! I tried the international HCA site looking for positions at their facilities.
Anyone have any advice?

You need to have at least an RN, and at least a three year degree in nurisng for it to be considered the same as their training now. That is a requirement of their immigration.

You will need to go thru immigration procedures, the same as for a nurse going the other way. Expect it to take about 14 to 18 months before you would actually be there working.

If you look at the UK Forum, you will see links as to what you will need to do to get your license there.

Just a warning, it is not going to be an instantaneous thing.

Anyone know if you need to get a UK nursing license to go to the UK for a student midwife experience? I'm tentatively talking with a UK midwife about spending a few weeks with her this summer (she does hospital, not home births) and need to know.

You will have to contact the NMC for that, but I would expect that you will need to, especially for that role. If the role requires that the person first have an RN license there, then you will need to have the same.

The only way around that is if the program were thru an approved school of nursing and you got a visa with a student rating. But to train privately, you wil lhave to go the route of the RN first.
