I want a texas RN License

Hello everyone,
I read some where that Texas is a compact state. I am in the state of Fla which is not a compact state. How would I go about getting a nursing license in the state of Texas??

How long does the process take? And if I am licensed in Texas can i go to the other compact states? My home state is Florida.

Thank you fellow nurses

You need to meet the BON requirements for endorsement. My understanding on compact is it allows you to live in main state whilst working in another (as long as compact state requirements is met) but if you are planning on moving from Florida to work in Texas then compact does not work.

You can get a TX license, but it won't have compact privileges unless you are a permanent resident of the state of TX. Otherwise, it will just be a "regular" license, and won't be recognized by other compact states.

You have to live in a compact state in order to get a license with compact privileges.
