I wanted to get an assignment in the Monterey Ca area and I just got a contract with Salinas Memorial !!!! Even though there were no day shift tele jobs posted my recruiter submitted my profile anyway and they interviewed me and offered me a dayshift!!!!!!! It is even at a crisis rate!!!
I am really looking forward to being so close to Monterey and all the FABULOUS SCUBA DIVING!!!!!
It will also be another first for my husband and I as we will be alone together for the first time in 25YEARS!!!!!!!!!!
Our girls (25,23,&18) will be staying home with jobs and school!!

Hi just found this website and very excited. I am about to start traveling - I am looking at Washington (Bremerton) or Oregon. I also live in Georgia right now. Ready to escape the heat! Have been a nurse for 13 years and floated for the past 7 yrs. Made the mistake of filling out RNVIP (thanks to a friend!) and have had too many recruiters call me! Have loved reading all the nice and helpful comments Looking for anyone else going out there......

Congratulations! How exciting for you!

After years in the hospital - and at a primary care clinic recently, specializing in the care of folks with HIV/AIDS - I've decided that I am finally ready to try travel nursing. My son is 20 and just finishing up school so no time like the present. Little nervous about it, though, as it's so completely different from what I've been doing. Reading all the posts has been really encouraging - especially from those over 40 ;-) as I am!!. Thanks, everyone...

How was the assignment? Please post a followup on this. I would love to do travel nursing after I gain a few years experience. I was just hired for a medical tele floor. I'm looking at traveling to CA or WA.

I am so glad to read where there are others of you out there considering traveling who sound like you're about my age, with the kids outta the house and yet aren't the most confident about the change either! I've been wanting to try this for a couple of yrs now but just can't seem to get up the nerve. I too registered on one of the sites and OMG! the number of phone calls was unreal! At least it made me feel wanted, heh heh.
Congrats on what seems like you're dream job and location!
