Sure, you can quit anything if you accept the concequences. If you are on an assignment be sure to read your contract and see what the penalties are. You can expect to pay for housing costs, not getting your travel money and other things.

i think i will keep working and try to work around the conflicts that i have. the penalty would be too much in the long run

I don't believe it's a very good idea to quit an assignment. I've never worked in a hospital that put thoughts of quitting on my mind. I'm sure it's like any other hospital in which you have good and bad days. Hang in there!
