How long should i wait for a telephone interview?

by elmay

i am a new traveler and my recruiter said she sent out my info to area hospitals. My anticipated start date is april 30th, so far no phone calls. My recruiter says hospitals won't call until it gets closer to my start date. how long should one wait for a telephone interview?

From my experience, phone interviews normally don't happen more than 4 weeks out. I would be more concerned about the recruiter saying she sent your information out. I would think she would be calling the hospitals and talking with them, rather than just sending your resume out and seeing if there is a response. I would call your recruiter every few days and see if she has a hospital that the wants to interview you...sometimes you maybe the one calling the nurse manager, sometimes the nurse manager calls you. Once you get to about three weeks from the start date you are looking for I would start calling your recruiter every day to see if she has any open assignments. Some assignments come up very last minute...my last one I got three days before I started. Good luck!
