How far in advance are contracts being posted?

Hi everyone. My contract ends mid Feb and I am wondering if contracts are being posted that far in advance or if it is just my agency that doesn't have any contracts that far in advance? I know it used to be contracts were posted 2-3 months ahead, but I guess with the economy that might not be the case? I am getting a bit antsy since I need to get a license and figure out how I am going to get to my next destination. Not to mention I am antsy about actually having a contract when my contract ends. Also, does your agency lose paperwork? Never get paperwork? Wait to the last minute to tell you they need something? I am not sure if all agencies are created equal or if I should be looking for a new one. Thanks.

I noticed that most postions were posted a month before the the time it takes to actually go on an start date. Depending on where you are in the paperwork process can lengthen or shorten the time it takes to actually go on an assignment.

They are posted whenever the facility decides that they have an opening and they communicate that to your agency. There is no particular time.

Some agencies actually have a website that you can view openings on.

They are posting assignments closer to start date these days.

It seems that they are trying to hold out for as long as possible before resulting to the use of travelers. I was hired for my next assignment this past Friday with a start date of Monday the 18th...that's 9 days out!! And my current assignment ends today!

I feel lucky to be getting the assignments I want. They are there, we just have to be prepared and ready!! I think it's more important than ever to make sure you have a financial cushion just in case....

for as long as possible before resulting to the use of travelers.....

that's resorting, not resulting. i'm not sure why i typed that! :)
