Housing in NYC ?

Hello All,
Just wondering what travel nurses in NYC do for housing?
Does anyone stay at motels or hotels? (excuse me if this is a naive question) LOL
I may be submitted somewhere in Manhatten and not wanting to be tardy or deal with the insane traffic, I was curious as to whether it would be realistic to rent a motel room or something for those days I will be working.
Thanks in advance

The companies that staff the Manhattan hospitals will usually put you in a studio (oversized closet) & you will, most likely still have some sort of a commute either by subway or bus(es). In the other boroughs of NYC (Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx, Staten Island) you have a better chance of getting a one bedroom with a shorter commute (timewise).

As for staying a a motel or hotel-it would be way too expensive. Take a look at expedia or travelocity for the outrageous prices for NYC. I have never seen anything less than $150.00 plus taxes per night and that's for something like the Habitat Hotel (glorified boarding house without the meals)-they do, however seem to permit pets-pet roaches, pet rats....
