Housing in Boston

by rnerin

Anyone been to Boston lately? If you're in the city, where is your housing?

I'm in Boston now, I have the company-provided housing. I'm in Quincy, which is a suburb of Boston, the housing is nice. I have a dog, so it's harder to find housing in the city proper that allows dogs. Go on Craigslist-there are some reasonable(reasonable being a relative term for Boston ), I'd try the Back Bay or the North End, lots of shopping, cafes, bars, etc. Avoid Roxbury and Dorchester.

Thanks emilee1978! Where are you working and with what company? Are they holding back on hiring in Boston, as in most other places? Or do you see an increase in hiring travelers again? I haven't even be in touch with my group of recruiters yet, because I feel it's a bit too early. I have been in a perm position for a year (my timing was good), but we're ready to hit the road in the spring again. We'd like to head to the northeast, as we haven't done that yet, after that loooong Boston winter, that is!! Thanks for the info. Take care.

I'm working at Cambridge Hospital, I've also done assignments at Lowell General and Brigham and Women's, so far Cambridge is my favorite. I've extended twice here, so I don't know how the job market is right now, I'll find out soon enough when I look for my next assignment. I'm with American Mobile, I know all you hear are horror stories about them, but so far so good. My recruiter says things are picking up, I don't know whether to believe them half the time or not.
