Can you tell me about their reputaion, pay, etc.

I don't pay for private housing with my agency. In fact, I just took a virtual tour of the private apt I will be occupying for my next assignment- Master suite, 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, washer/dryer, phone, cable TV, fireplace, utilities, linens/dishes, furniture, etc provided and paid for by my agency. The pay is great, and my recruiter is very nice, too.

I would love that info too please - it sounds ideal!!

I have completed two contracts with AMS Healthcare Services and found my recruiter (CR) to be great in taking care of my needs. It seems he makes decisions himself without big company red tape. However, I am ready to go again and desire a company with matching 401 and great housing. In addition, I would like to stay with the same company long-term. Any recommendations? Thanks, Nan

On Assignment is the best company with the most dependable pay and recruiters. They are a great all inclusive company

Can you tell me your recruiter's name for On Assignment? I just sent in my paperwork for this company and can not get a call back from the recruiter, ever since I let him know it will be 6 month's before I can travel. Thanks :rolleyes:

Hello! I've met a traveler at my facility I work for that works for On- Assignment and she loves it, she been with them for 5 years, with no problems and has a good recruiter when she showed me her contract I was very much interested in that agency, so I request for an application. If you do not mind me asking, who is your recruiter.

I've gotten calls from lots other agencies- including American Mobile. they offered me $16.00 per hr less than I am getting now, for a nearly identical assignment.

I travelled with AMN for 2 years and I regret it. I went with them when I first became a travel rn because they were in all the magazines and seemed to be the most popular. Every time I took an assignment, if I wanted to extend the pay got decreased by 0.50 - $1.00 per hour. I am sorry but you can't tell me the facility is doing that. Once I started talking to other travelers I realized I was getting a bad deal. Now I work for a company that has FREE private housing w/ linens, cable, phone, appliances, pots and pans, rental car, and airfare all included, plus $30 - 35 / hour every contract. Sorry, AMN can't even come close to that. Plus when I working for them I didn't even know they didn't provide long or short term disability. Now I make sure any company I goes with has that. AMN is too big of a company to be so cheap. They are getting 3x's what you are and still wanna pay crappy while nurses work like dogs. LOL. Like I said before, I really wish I would have know a traveler to ask questions to before I started.

I found the recruiter I talked to very pushy. She even called my work for a reference without my permmission and I hadn't accepted an assignment. I didn't even fill out an application just mentioned the name of the hospital I worked at.

My husband who is an RT and I have been traveling with American Mobile for a few years now while i had a baby and finished my RN degree with EC. We traveled in CT for about a year and then came out to Southern Cali. We have had good experiences with them. They have always placed us in really nice housing. A few times his recruiter told him he would have to pay for part of the housing cost and he just said NO . So we have always lived in housing with everything but phone and cable paid. We live about 20 minutes from his job on the coast ...several of his coworkers are travelers too and they live right near the hospital and have their car broken into several times and generally don't live in the greatest area. With these travel companies , everything is negotiable...tell them you won't pay for housing and that you want to live in a nice community...tell them that you want a sign off bonus ...you won't believe what they will give you if you are aggressive.
