I am not a nurse, but it sounds too little for NY, the cost of living is quite high around here. Good luck to you.

I am presently on an assignment in NYC and am making a higher hourly wage. The subsidy is about 1/3 less though. I would shop around and compare before I committing.

Yes definitely go to Delphi. Sounds like the agency will eb making a fortune off of anyone they can get to take that assignment. I think there are still some states you musr be married to let them do what they are trying to do to you. (if you know what I mean)
THe travel nurse forum also has a sister link that will take you to the forum that you can talk to recruiters.

Default Souns Crappy
I am not working in the NYC, but Nyack. Plus I take housing, but that sounds really bad. You should be getting at least $4000 or higher for housing out here. And if they are giving u a completion. it shoule be more than that since 45% will be taken out in tax. I am never fond of completion bonuses really because of that. Add more on to my housing stipend or hourly instead of a dumb bonus.

Keep in mind also that any OT and SS contribution etc. would be based only on the $17 an hour rate! If you do not have a legal "tax home" then that housing allotment would also be considered taxable income by the IRS. The delphi site has some very good information on this.

Default Contracts
There are so many things to look at in a contract. I am finding it difficult to know which one is best. The pay rate and stipened are not the only things to look at. Go to other companies and do your best to compare.
