Desert Regional Medical Center

Just an FYI, I am currently doing an assignment in Palm Springs at Desert Regional Medical Center and want to give it a thumbs down!! I rotate throught the Trauma, Cardiac, and MedSurg ICU's and I have never worked around such unprofessional, disgraceful, neglectful nurses...EVER!! Horrible, horrible quality of care and the majority of the physicians are incompetent and inconsiderate to the pt.'s and pt.'s families, as well. I would never go to this facility for my own care, nor for the care of my cat!! Please don't let your recruiters or the management fool you, it's a nursing nightmare!! I work with approximately 8 other traveleres right now and we constantly share horror stories of the care we witness or the rude, unprofessional behavior we observe. It's beyond "sub-par".

Ditto! If I had known you were thinking about taking a position I could have warned you!!! I was there in early 2008 and had the same horrible experience. Patient care is poor at best and they would make us clock out for our lunches and then work through them! Thank goodness you only have to work 3 days a week and you can enjoy Palm Springs the rest of the time. Make sure you take the tram up the mountain and there is a little bar at the south end of town (next to the car wash) that is owned by a husband and wife, they have live music, the food is great and the conversation stimulating. Keep your chin up and good luck!
