Travel Nurses can stay wherever they want. Most companies give you the option of them finding housing for you or you can take the stipend and do your own thing. I take the stipend and I just stay at an Extended Stay Hotel. Some people rent rooms, which saves you alot of money. When I was in Bakersfield, I was paying about $1000 a month for my Extended Stay and other travelers were renting rooms for about $400 a month. It all depends on your preference. I think my current stipend in Northern California is about $700 a week and I only spend $350 a week on my hotel. The rest of the money goes in my POCKET.
