Has anyone ever worked an assignment in Bakersfield, CA? If so, how was the area and how did the staff treat you? Were they traveler friendly?

I am currently on assignment in Bakersfield. The staff is friendly at Bakersfield Memorial. The air quality however is some of worst in the nation. But to keep it positive I have been exploring L.A. on my days off. Very Fun.

No no and no again

The nightshift ICU staff is VERY dysfunctional and hostile to travelers.

I would recommend staying away from at least that part of the hospital.

I saw this post and started asking around since Bakersfield has like 5 day-shift postings for their ER.

Everyone I spoke to said the conditions are pretty lowsy and they will throw you to the dogs. My friend said her license was in jeopardy most every shift.
She said it's every bit as bad as Long Beach.

Okay, so it's second-hand information but there you are...
