Can anyone tell me about Amercian Mobile?

I have been a traveler for 2 years. I am looking for a company that has decent pay with a wider selection of assignments. Can you give my any input about American Moble? How are they to work for? Is the pay competitive? Do they have many job opportunities? Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks, Lori

Hi Lori,

I am just starting to look into travel nursing, but have been doing a lot of research. I went to the following website: http://forums.delphiforums.com/travelnurse

There were quite a few forums talking about how much they didn't care for American Mobile. I personlly have no idea if that information is legitimate, but you might want to check it out. Hope that helps!

I have worked w/a lot of travelers. They all seem to have a minimal of three months in their contracts. Is there such a thing as month long ones?

Default 4 week contracts are possible
there are several companies that do 4 week assignments. it is probably not their preference but they are there.

Be careful as many of those are "scab" assignments.

I have worked with American Mobile but will be leaving them soon. No major problems, but a lot of minor ones.

As a note, their stock/company is doing poorly in the financials right now.

Default thanks for the advice
i have heard that too. i am stipulated that i will not cross picket lines. i could never do that to fellow nurses who are trying to better their situation when they work there permanentely. i just pray that i can get a feel for a recruiter that will be honest with me about that.

I had a contract with American Mobile twice - both at the same hospital. After talking with many travelers I think it really boils down to who your recruiter is. I had a GREAT one and I really miss working with her.

Default american mobile
i just talked with a friend of a friend recentely that has been with american mobile for a while and she swears by them. however, the research that i have done, which is not a whole lot, does show the pay to be somewhat less. there are some web sites that have some comparisons and rankings. if you don't know what they are let me know and i can turn you on to them. i have got to decide something this week. wish me luck
