pls did anyone take the version 2( that is for those taking hesi for the 2nd time).pls if you dont mind me asking, was it completley diff from first, I know it cant be same questions but was it just similar questions or was it completely different? Am just curious and nervous cos I take mine soon. Thanks
@timewilltell-I took the HESI A2-V2 on Friday. The questions aren't the same but the format is, each section has the same amount of questions. My first time to take HESI A2-V1 I didn't study, I came right out of a 16hr semester and decided that I would just try my luck. My scores weren't bad but I had high B's and 1 A (87% overall, 830CT)

Almost a year later I took version 2 and studied an entire week before I took the test. I went down from 830 to an 820 on CT because I second guessed everything I thought was right. One girl said she felt V2 was harder, to me it was the same test, different questions. GOOD LUCK!!

Those are awesome scores! Wow. Truthfully though, no one can relax when it comes to getting in. If there are a bunch of "duds" applying to get in for the spring, people with a HESI CT score of 750 and a GPA of 3.25 could get in. If there are a bunch of super smart people applying for the spring semester, however, there could be people with 900 CT scores and 4.0 GPAs who get rejected. I don't see why ANYONE should be nervous though because it is impossible for us to know what caliber of people are applying this go round. Seriously desjt3, in my opinion, those are amazing scores.
You are so right! I feel like the deadline isn't even here yet & I'm getting impatient lol I am so obsessed with trying to put a scope on what they look for that I KEEP re-reading old forums. I saw that one student said the average age of students in the accepted classes is 27-32. Im 24...

Also read a lot about how the Spring is the hardest to get into because of the short amount that they accept. (80 students) and that those with scores like mine, but hold a previous bachelor's degree will get accepted first. Just something good to know.

I'm hoping my age is looked at as "mature" enough. I don't have a bachelor's but I have two associate degrees that I just graduated with...but for some reason I dont think that matters lol.

Hopefully I can pull myself away from reading and keep telling myself I have a shot! I think we all do!!
  3. thanks @ desjt3, we kind of share the same story as per taking the hesi last year and coming out of a packed semester.my score was 85% overall, i just hope it gets better this second time.thanks

Girl, you have to stop!!! I was doing this for like, six straight hours on Sunday, and my boyfriend finally told me to get off the site because I was driving myself NUTS!!! Like Courtney said...there are plenty of people that don't even meet the minimum requirements that are applying, and there are plenty of people that are perfect applying. I spoke to an adviser on the phone, and she told me that age has nothing to do with it in the application process (thank goodness, because I'm 20!), so relax!

This site is great, but don't abuse it! Remember what Courtney said. We have no idea what approach they take when picking who gets in and who does not - also remember that for a lot of people, this is their backup school. Meaning the people that get into their first pick will give up their spot at UTHSC-H if they are offered one. You have worked hard, we all have, and we have done everything in our power to get in. It's not in our hands anymore...now we just play the waiting game together

  10. Hello, I'm going through some big problems. I took my chemistry class in 2001, and I'm glad UTHSC does not have expiration in prereq classes, but all other universities outside of Texas have expiration on prereq classes. My only problem is that UTHSC will look at it as retaking the same course, and that could hurt me. I remember Courtney and desjt3 posting that ut looks at how many times one has taken a course. I'm applying to NYU and Georgetown and they both what me to retake Chemistry. Don't know what to do. Help?
