UTHSC-Houston Fall 2012 Applicants - Page 29
Register Today!- Feb 1, '12 by ktdiditHemphia,
I am not sure what it us claimed under specifically and I haven't maxed out, I think I'm around 2500-2800. My accountant just told me to be sure that on top of school tuition and book fees that I turn in all extra school supplies receipts, the application fees etc. I don't know if it is under a different label or not but it's worth a shot! - Feb 1, '12 by swweetipieI applied to Spring 2012 and received a transcript eval but then was not accepted. I think everyone will eventually get one to know about classes that transferred or what you may need. Applied again to Fall 2012. Hopefully better chance this time!

I will have to reapply for Spring 2013 just want to compare! I am missing a science so I have to wait a whole semester! :/ - Feb 1, '12 by swweetipieQuote from desjt3I had a 88% Hesi, 3.33 science, 3.3 GPA overall, critical thinking 830.Swweetipie-what was your stats for the first time you applied? I finished Chem last semester with an A so now my stats are 3.5 science and I also retook another class to improve overall GPA but not much, maybe 3.4 - Feb 1, '12 by ktdiditSwweetipie,
If I remember correctly UT is no longer doing the cumulative GPA just the pre-req and science GPA. (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong!) I know for people like me who went to college at 18 and didn't do so hot the first go around, this new system is beneficial. If I could go back and punch my 18 year old self in the face I would really enjoy it!
My cumulative gpa is a 3.54 whereas my pre-req gpa is a 3.885. The new scale helped me so maybe it will help you too!

I have any overall GPA around 3.34... or something close to that. But my GPA is better without my one semester of college at 18-19. I agree.... I would punch my 18 yr old self in the face too
I always think "what was I thinking???" Oh well... Hopefully that is true. I will find out for sure on the 23rd
Whatever I find out at the info seminar I will let y'all know!

I'm going to try to go to the information session too. I can't wait to hear what they have to say! I'm curious as to how many people have applied ...Last edit by ktdidit on Feb 1, '12 : Reason: add word - Feb 2, '12 by heavykevyThe transcript evals have absolutely nothing to do as to whether you have been accepted to the school or not. They are only sent out to let you know what you are lacking and need to have completed by the program start date (has to be on record with UTHSC by start date, not just completed).
As for interviews, I'm not sure when they stopped them. I applied to 4 schools for Spring12 and UTMB was the only school that still had interviews for BSN students. You won't have to interview for anything at UTHSC until you apply to Master's programs (I'm sure you all want to be CRNAs).
One good thing to get started on if y'all haven't yet is your HepB immunizations. It's a 6 month series, and you have to have it complete (or atleast 2 out of 3 shots taken so far) before you start clinicals 5 weeks into your semester. It's a bit pricey, but you're going to need it. Look on the UTHSC website for a list of vaccinations that you'll need to get, although you don't need to worry about most of those until you're accepted. HepB just takes a long time, so it's good to have that taken care of early.
Here's what the current schedule is like for the first semester Juniors:
Mon: 8-9 Lab demo, 9:15-12:45 Lab (you wear your scrubs on days you have labs)
Tues: 8-11:30 Lecture, 12-1 Lab Skills Demo, 1-4 Lab
Wed: 8-11 Lecture, 1-4 Lecture
Thurs, Fri, OR Sat: 7-3:30 Clinical at hostpital (only one of these days, depends on which hospital you’re placed at)
It looks like a light schedule, although I thought I’d throw in the rest of the week. When you’re not at school this is what goes on:
Thurs: STUDY
Fri: STUDY
Sat: STUDY
Sun: Go to church, STUDYktdidit likes this. -
