- Nov 20, '12 by IamPam2005Quote from jesus2012Having a Bachelors degree and first attempt A's on Micro, Anatomy, and physics get the most weight. Then gpa and TEAS scores. They only look to make sure you have completed enough hours to be able to apply but it doesn't have any weight on acceptance. Good luck!Pls, do u think i will have a chance getting in? - Nov 27, '12 by Oo10Hey Guys! Congrats on all the acceptances! The TWU nursing program is very competitive, and it looks like they took even less applicants this semester, so don't be discouraged if you didn't make it this time around.
I'm currently a J1 at TWU Dallas, so if anyone has any questions about anything (teachers/classes/books/supplies/clinicals ect.), just ask! I know I had a TON of questions before and even more so after orientation, so just though I'd let you guys know I'm here lurking
- Nov 28, '12 by root.userQuote from Oo10Thanks for the offer Oo10! I will be attending Houston campus, but I was curious what your extra-curricular (clinicals, etc...) schedule looked like this semester (hours per week, frequency, etc...). I am considering picking up a P/T job (as I am quitting my F/T one), and was just curious how doable this may be.I'm currently a J1 at TWU Dallas, so if anyone has any questions about anything (teachers/classes/books/supplies/clinicals ect.), just ask! - Nov 29, '12 by Oo10It is very do-able, though I would caution against it. The people that I know who tech are doing fine in school, but it is VERY difficult. Time management is super important and if your good with that, then you should be okay a long as your not doing more than 1-2 shifts a week.
Here's my schedule for reference, I'm sure Houston's is very similar:
M- Assessment lecture 2pm-4:30
Tu- Pharm 9am-12. Concepts lecture 2-5
W- Assessment lab 8am-12or1
Th-Concepts lab 8am-2. This class is the first 5-6 weeks, then you starts going to clinical on this day instead of lab. (clinicals are usually from 6:30am-1ish)
F-nothing
M-Tu is the same for everyone, labs are different and your generally split up into those by clinical groups. Ex: Some people have concepts lab/clinicals on Friday and they have Thursdays off. You should get your schedule at orientation.sshuman likes this. - Dec 4, '12 by CinthiaD92Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone with only one A out of 4 for science first attempts got accepted? I only have one A the rest are B's and unfortunately that is not something I can ever change
- Dec 4, '12 by spring hopefulHi Everyone! Congrats to all of you that got in! I will be a J2 in Houston next semester! Have you guys started a facebook group yet? If so, let me know the name of your group and I will join it and can answer questions you guys might have!
- Dec 4, '12 by ambrekaiQuote from spring hopefulThanks for your offer!! The Dallas nursing students have a facebook group, but we already have a J2 from Dallas answering all of our questions. I feel that if we have more than one person it'll become too complicated.Hi Everyone! Congrats to all of you that got in! I will be a J2 in Houston next semester!
