Tarrant County College fall 2013 - Page 15
Register Today!- Feb 23 by futureexpectationsI went in on Thursday and turned in some of my stuff and talked to an advisor. I am still lacking Hep B 3 and Tdap and also have to do titers for MMR and varicella; she just requested that I try to get the Tdap done by the deadline and get the titers done as soon as possible. I haven't seen anywhere that the MCV4 is required, except for the standard requirement for college. I am over 30 so I hope that I don't have to have it; she didn't mentioned it. Kristajaye-How long did it take to get the titer results back?
- Feb 23 by kristajayeQuote from futureexpectationsI had blood drawn on Tuesday and had my results back in about 48 hours. I am getting my 2nd Hep B and my MMR booster on Thursday before I turn in my application. Since I need an MMR booster, I did some research. I found out that you have to get the MMR done at the same time as a TB test or wait at least 4 weeks after the MMR before you get the TB test. The MMR can cause a false negative on the TB test. I am planning to get my Tdap with my physical and then get my TB test and final Hep B done after summer 1. I am looking forward to getting all of these shots done and over with!I went in on Thursday and turned in some of my stuff and talked to an advisor. - Feb 24 by kn92Hey guys, sorry for all the questions. I've never been to the TCC Trinity River campus. Everyone is saying to not turn it into the main building?
- Feb 24 by ktm89Quote from kn92You'll want to turn it in to the Allied health building. It's on the same street, just further up. Their address is:Hey guys, sorry for all the questions. I've never been to the TCC Trinity River campus. Everyone is saying to not turn it into the main building?

If you park in their parking lot, just go into building TRHA and find the elevator and go to the 4th floor. Once you exit the elevator go to your right a few feet and turn left down the hall. The advisor is in room 4008 (once you turn left its straight down the hall) - Feb 26 by katherine_I turned in my application today. I have a 3.75 and a 89.5 on my HESI. I really hope I get in! Good luck to everyone that is applying.
- Feb 27 by loqicalUgh! Are is anyone applying with a 3.5 GPA ? I'm hoping to get in, but nervous that I'm not. I did score a 94 on the HESI, hopefully that helps.
- Feb 28 by ktm89Quote from loqicalI think having a 94 on the HESI will still make you competitive. From my understanding they just average your science GPA and HESI together and rank you based on the average.Ugh! Are is anyone applying with a 3.5 GPA ? For example... Your overall score would be a 90.75 and that would fall between somebody with say a 3.75 GPA + 87 HESI (90.36 overall) and a 3.75 + 88.8 (90.86)
From what I've seen from previous semesters threads, that seems like you would have a good shot at making it in - Feb 28 by TiffanyRodriguezHello everyone! I'm new to this thread and am applying to TWU and TCC for Fall 2013. I just took the HESI (made a 93) and turned in my application. I have a question, how do you calculate your nursing GPA? Is it just the 4 sciences? I made an A in A&P 1 and 2, an A in micro and an A in chem. Does anyone know if that makes me a competitive applicant?
- Feb 28 by TXranger_ChrisBased on previous semesters, grades overrule HESI scores. The 3.5s that have made it in were on the alternate list first.
- Feb 28 by kristajayeQuote from TiffanyRodriguezFrom what I am reading you have a 4.0 for your sciences and a 93 on your Hesi. If that is correct, your science grades make you very competitive and your Hesi score is fairly high as well. I turned in my application today with a 4.0 and a 96.5 on the Hesi and the advisor I spoke with was very optimistic about my chances of getting in. I felt bad, there were lots of applicants who were being counseled about their options because of their grades and I was done in under 3 minutes once I sat down with the advisor. With your grades/scores, I'm guessing that you might get offered spots both schools.Hello everyone! I'm new to this thread and am applying to TWU and TCC for Fall 2013.
