That is a lot of books to buy at one time, but when considering that I have purchased 37 books over the past two years it seems reasonable.
  3. Stephalump, best of luck with workforce. Did you get a cost obligation form from Lone Star?!? Workforce will want that from the school. If you go to the business office at your campus they can tell you who to speak with at the school to have the form sent to workforce. I have been receiving their scholarship for the past five semesters. I do not have to get my books from the school, I can buy them anywhere, but I do not get reimbursed for the tax. I suggest you visit the workforce lesion at Lone Star. Each campus has a part-time person that strictly handles workforce paperwork and such.
  4. 37 books is crazy! We have two list, a have to list and a recommended list. The have to list was only 6 books with one program through evolve. I have already bought my books and I spent around $400 for everything including 3 recommeneded books.
  5. On a side note: I recieved my stethoscope today and it was the first time I wanted to cry through the whole process. I don't know about anyone else, but I have been getting everything together and I feel like its so real. THeres no turning back now
    tlcarter99 and kalisefer like this.
  6. gmarks, where did you get your stethoscope? Scrubs, etc.? I've been debating about whether or not to get a 1st class (i.e., expensive) one, or just to get a basic model.
  7. I went and checked out my friends cheap one vs. her expensive littman one... I went online and bought mine through medisave.com. I bought the Littman classic ii se. The reason I bought that one was because it had great reviews just like the more expensive littmans, but yet its not a super cheap one either. I paid $80 with s&h and with engraving. I wanted my named engraved b/c i heard that dr. and others steal them from nurses. This way no one can deny its mine!

  8. I cannot wait for orientation next Wed. I am curious to see if I have a different experience with Tomball or if I run into some of the problems you all have described.

  9. Not liking the minimester. Wish I had taken a break. At least there are only 8 days left, but then again I am taking another class during summer 1. I cannot wait for summer 1 to get here so I can take a break!
  10. @Stephalump - Did you take the refresher course or did you actually retake the credit class (a&p)? I'm between a rock and a hard place...If I take the refresher course then I can only re-apply to lonestar, but if I retake the credit class then I can apply to a 4 year college (all of the universities wont accept the refresher course). I'm dreading having to retake the actual class.
