I just finished Microbiology, College Algebra and 4 of my 5 coreq's, and all I have left is Physiology, Pharmacology and Human Growth & Development to take in the Spring '11. Woohoo! I'm so excited. Anyone else out there applying for that semester?

P.S. Haha! I don't know why, but the title inserted a sad face in it. It was supposed to be a little pig :smackingf haha!Last edit by TheHotPinkLady on Dec 9, '10 : Reason: Sad face in the title

- Dec 9, '10 by annbananzHey There!
I'M SO glad you started this thread! I too am applying for Spring 2012. I just completed Anatomy this semester. I hate the fact that Anatomy is the "gateway" class for ALL (except math) the pre-req courses....oh well!
I'll be taking Physiology with the same prof I took with in Anatomy...she's totally AWESOME! I'll also be taking Micro and Pharmacology in class and Human Growth & Development and English Comp I on line. I know it's a bit CRAZY but I really just want to start nursing school already.
How was Micro? I kind of know what to expect in the other classes except Micro and Pharmacology. I'm kind of scared of Pharmacology because of the dosage calculations...hopefully I'll be able to get through it. - Dec 10, '10 by kzaroskyI just finished all my pre-reqs this semester! I'm applying for nursing school for Fall '11. Pharmacology is not very scary just a lot of memorization. Dosage calculations are really easy go 100 on all three. Microbiology was really easy and I had lot of fun in lab. Physio is so much better then anatomy. I had great professors. Good luck in your classes.
I took pharmacology and physiology at the same time I think it really helped.

Thanks for the info! I know for sure I have a GREAT Physio prof since I took her for Anatomy. Hopefully, I'll have great profs for all my other classes...I did use ratemyprofessor.com so we'll see.
Best of Luck with your application!
Oh, BTW, did you take the HESI yet? - Dec 10, '10 by TheHotPinkLadyQuote from annbananzhey annbananz!hey there!

i know, the fact that they tell you you can split the classes up between two semesters in the info session is a total joke :-( i only was able to take micro this semester because i already took it at ut. those tricksters!
wow, that's quite a courseload! but, when you really, truly want something, sometimes it's worth taking on a lot to get it :-) i'm so ready to be done too, i've been taking prereq's/coreq's for a year now already...
i actually really enjoyed micro a lot, and i got an a without *too* much effort. if you happen to have villarreal (or really, any professor, i'm sure this would work), all i did was record all of his lectures (lab instructions, too) and write them all out, and i only studied those. i didn't study the powerpoints, the exam reviews, or anything else. it's a really interesting class too
who are you taking for anatomy? i really didn't like my anatomy prof, i dropped her at 3am before her first exam when i realized i really didn't want to put up with her for another four exams! - Dec 10, '10 by TheHotPinkLadyQuote from kzaroskywoohoo! i'm taking pharm and phys at the same time too :di just finished all my pre-reqs this semester! i'm applying for nursing school for fall '11. pharmacology is not very scary just a lot of memorization. dosage calculations are really easy go 100 on all three. microbiology was really easy and i had lot of fun in lab. physio is so much better then anatomy. i had great professors. good luck in your classes.

thanks for the advice on micro! one of my classmates in anatomy kind of scared me about it. but then again she took it in the summer and she said her prof was not that great.
i wonder if there are any other hopefuls out there (either fall 11 or spring 12). it'd would be interesting to get their feedback on this whole process. -
- Dec 11, '10 by kzaroskyQuote from annbananzI have not taken the HESI yet Will be taking it in January. I have a study guide and I have talked to people who have taken it and I have been told it is really easy.
