Weatherford College Fall 2012 start

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Well, I am not sure if someone has started this topic already but I wanted to find others who will be applying for Weatherford's ADN program this application period. I am scheduling my TEAS for next week. I am excited to apply and see how things go. Would love to hear from others who are applying this round as well. Thanks and Happy New Year!!!!

PS I have been taking my pre reqs at TCC.

Took the TEAS today and did awful! Did between 73-76% on all four sections. Ugh!!! I have 9 points so my hopes for next Fall are dashed unless I can do better next week.

I felt rushed and the computer screen was hard to stare at for some reason. I think I really was too nervous. This guy next to me was really distracting too. Lots of really strangely worded questions or maybe I am just not very smart. I am definately whining but I can't help it. I really wanted to do well.My ego is crushed. I studied hard and I am a 4.0 student. Not a good tester? Maybe that's it. Anyway, I made an appointment to retake next week. I start Micro and APII next week so I need to get this retake done before those classes really consume my time.

Sorry to be a downer. Good luck to all of you.

Im sorry you didn't do as well as you hoped. How many points did you get from the test? I think when my last take over the summer was around a 78% and I earned 5 points. Luckily you can take it again! I am studying for mine and hopefully will take it again in February.

Don't stress to much, I had 16 points and made the alternate list in spring when they only take 20, they took 20 students and 11 alternates so that still landed me in the top 31, had it been fall, I would be in.

Keep up the good work!

Don't best yourself up over it. It is a hard test. You should do better the second time. Also, look at the back page and it will show you the subject area of every question you missed. If it has the same thing twice then you missed two. You should have seen my grammar one the first time around. I was crying when I left the testing center. @simrc - you got this for Fall!!!!!

Thanks Student213, i am pretty confident for fall but I am going to retake the TEAS just for a point or two more. I am so excited for you guys starting the program, good luck and have fun. Also you can keep us updated on how rough it is :)

You guys are so sweet and 213 I did cry. I froze a couple times during the test. Certain questions seemed like they came from out of nowhere and not from the manual. I will go over my 'backapage' for sure and study some more for next week.

Simcr, I only have 9 points. I have all general ed finished=5, Col. Alg.=A, API=A and they will count APII and Micro as Cs because I am enrolled in them this semester. With only 4 points on the TEAS I wouldn't make it in even if I had the extra 2 points for my sciences.

Oh, well. Nose to the grindstone I guess.

Ok Kalt, you can do this, now that you know what the test is like its no longer an unknown evil :) now its a known evil...lol

I think you will do much better the second time around, just make sure and watch the time and not spend to much time on one problem. Maybe you should pick a few of the sections to really rock and gain a few more points off. I know for me science is just hopeless, i mess that up each time. Because the test is so hard, there are alot of people in your shoes, last fall some of the 15s made it into the program after being on the alternate list!

Let me know if I can help in any way :)

Thank you simcr. So kind of you.

I'm not giving up. I performed best in Math 76.7 and Reading 76. Science was 75 and Eng. Usage was a 73.

One problem looked as if it had a type-o but I'm not sure. I wasted a lot of time trying to figure out what the question "meant to ask" so it was frustrating. I am really glad I gave it a try though.

I will try my best to improve on what ATI suggested. I will take your advice and stick to perfecting the 2 subjects I scored highest on.

Thankyou

PS when you repeated the TEAS was it the same test or totally different?

The second time I took the TEAS it was a different test, I took one in January and then one in July, I don't know if that had anything to do with it. I had a friend take the test at the exact same time as me and we were comparing questions, they were completely different. I only got a 65% the first go and then a 78% the second time. Just do your best, have you tried the ATI online practice test? I did both A and B option and I felt that helped me out, gave me an idea on how much time I was spending and when the question was wrong it gave a brief reason why.

The reading for me was difficult the first time because I tried to read to much into it, the second time I got a 95%. I just had to take it at face value and not think to much :)

Yes, I am sure I was over analyzing alot! Plus I stduied about 2 hours before hand.(Talk about burning ATP.) Haha!

This time I am testing in the morning after a goodnight's sleep. I need to chill out and keep my cool. It's so funny because when it comes to real life emergency situations I stay collected. This test just surprised me I guess.

The Reading was the worst. I hate having to click back and forth from the text to the questions. That really bugged me. Can I start with Math first if I choose?

I don't know if you can start with math, it always just started with the reading. Maybe ask next time you go in to test. I know it is frustrating, I am starting to study all over again, kinda wish I would have taken a chemistry course because that is where I really lose it. Good Luck!

Hey Simcr.

I am good with Chem. so maybe I can help. Solubility, ionic vs covalent, structure of atoms and balancing chemical equations is alot of info. They included questions about all these in my test! Some of the Life Science caught me off guard. Let me know if I can help.

Kalt

How are the A&P questions??
