UTMB Spring 2013

U.S.A. Texas

Hey guys!

:)

The application period for UTMB Spring 2013 is now open! Have any of you already applied/ taken the teas? Good luck to all!

Hey guys! I finished my personal statement and it was around the length as yours barb24! BUT when I went to put on my NursingCAS application the limit is less than 500 words!!! :( I have no idea if we send it to both UTMB and NursingCAS... on the website this is what I found!:

For Spring 2013 Admission:

All applicants must use the centralized nursing application, NursingCAS. When applications are complete and verified by NursingCAS, the UTMB Office of Enrollment Services will be notified and will send each applicant a supplemental application via email. Applicants will be required to pay an application fee to NursingCAS and UTMB.

All applications must be complete at NursingCAS by the appropriate deadlines, which are listed under the Admissions Process menu.

If you need additional instructions or experience difficulties with the application, please contact NursingCAS as listed on their website.

Hi futurepedrn22

i wrote about 620 words and when i was about uploading it into nursingcas application i couldn't. i then had to call nursingcas and they said i couldn't upload it if it goes above their words count which is about 470 words. so i had to delete some part of my personal statement.

How far is everyone in their application process?! I'm getting soooo nervous! I'm probably going to end up with a GPA in the 2.9-3.0 area :(! I've been stalking other UTMB forums and there are A LOT of people who've failed and dropped a lot of classes! I've never failed or dropped, and have NEVER made lower than a C! I'm just hoping my TEAS Score (which is an 84) and my personal statement will help me!!

Im taking my TEAS June 1st, have not sent any transcripts in yet so I do not really have an accurate calculation of my GPA. Good Luck!!! I really hope we get in!

Good luck to you also!! IDK if you are using a study guide or not I used the Mcgraw-Hills 5 practice TEAS tests! I feel like they really helped me a lot, especially with the english and grammar part lol!!

hi all,

utmb sent me a letter regarding my supplemental application; i tried the link but was unable to open it. has anyone received this letter yet and how did you go about it. thanks

I have not submitted my application yet. I am so nervous and afraid I will miss the deadline. I have to wait until nursingcas receives my transcripts :/

I'm floating in the same boat as you dee1388! Do you know if NursingCAS will notify us when they do receive them or do we just have to keep checking? lol I'M SO NERVOUS! Have you submitted your TEAS scores to UTMB yet? Or are you going to wait to submit your application

I have not taken it yet :S

I take it on the 1st I am so scared... because of school and work I have not been able to study very much!!

aaaghhh!!!

Can any of you guys please give me as much information as you can on the TEAS V. Was it hard? What should I focus on for science, math, english etc.?

Did you use any study guide or practice test? if so which one and was it helpful?

Im debating whether or not I should buy the ATI manual and practice tests :(

Thanks so much!

Honestly the TEAS was very challenging, BUT preparing for it will help you!

For the English/Language part: depending on how long ago or how well you remeber, you should review the basic rules (nouns, puncuation, structure of a sentence, grammar, spelling etc.) I personally didn't focus too much on this part and ended up scoring a 70% for this section (It's been almost three years since I took an english class!) lol

For math: A LOT of algebra, measurement stuff, and chart interpretations. I love math! I scored a 96.7% on this section!

For science: There was some anatomy and physio questions, a lot of basic biology, a few chemistry, and scientific reasoning. I felt this section was the most challenging of them all. I scored a 77.1%

Reading: This section is just your basic reading comprehension. (Theme of the passage, author's purose, etc.) Similar to what we were tested on in high school. I scored a 92.9% on this section!

My overall was an 84%. Don't stress yourself out too much! Just breathe!!

I am also going to apply, but just found out that their policy on courses retaken is that you can only have 2 courses retaken and I have retaken 4.. Has anyone retaken more than 2 courses and made it in the program?
