UTMB Fall 2013

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hello! I searched the site and seen no one made a topic about the people trying to enter in Fall 2013 so here is it  I am applying to UTMB for Fall 2013. I've written my personal statement and filled in the application. Now i'm waiting on nursing CAS to receive all my transcripts and to take my TEAS test on Jan. 8. I'm so nervous. How is everyone else coming along?

jshanice,

It is very possible. I had like three minutes left by the time I got to my last question of the reading section, I was freaking out; but I'm a fast reader and I'm able to recall certain things when I read, others may not be. So I would do as much as you possibly can. If you don't know something mark what you think is the answer (just in case you DO run out of time so you can have a chance to get it right) and come back to it; don't just sit there and waste three minutes on one question. Process of elimination. Try not to focus on the time so much, just pretend it's like the most interesting passage you've ever read and you'll do fine. I recall one passage talking about the city water system, and another talking about snow blowers, and explaining what kind of engines were in them, blah, blah, blah. They put that stuff in there so you will lose focus, but don't allow that to happen!

Submitted my completed application a few days ago. The only thing that I am concerned about is the TEAS testing. My score was a 79%, which to me doesn't seem good, but someone was telling me the thing to look at is the placement. Basic, Advanced, Exemplary. My score was in the "Advanced" category. Has anyone else heard of this?

I'm taking my test Friday and ill be so happy if I make a 79% the passing rate is 58% and I think the national average is about 63% I'm sure if your gpa and your supplemental essay is good you will be accepted, try not to stress about it, what's going to happen will happen! Good luck I just hope I can do okay on this teas test I really should have studied harder!

I'm taking my TEAS tuesday and i've really been hitting the science section hard. hopefully it pays off. also i received my supplemental applicaton and completed it and mail it off today. just praying i do well on this test. its stressing me that everyone says the science is really hard so pray pray pray.

Wow! You are all making me feel so much better! I am feeling a bit more confident. My TEAS score was an 83% and that's in the 94th percentile, so I wouldn't feel stressed if you aren't seeing scores in the 90s! My GPA isn't amazing, but it's not bad. I'm hoping my TEAS and essay help me a lot. My app. completion date is saying 12/29/2012 so hopefully it'll be processed soon.. :wideyed:

Good luck to us all! I hope we all make it in!

Just finished my teas test so I thought I'd update y'all!!First of all, in my opinion science was the easiest of all the sections! My test just had really basic stuff on their some of it I could see where someone would be confused thoughThe grammar portion sucked, it was my lowest scoreAnd the math and reading was easy but I just felt so rushed! Anyways I made a 79.3% not the best but hopefully it will be good enough! And to all of you still waiting for nursing cas to receive your stuff they posted received transcripts on 12/27 and they finished calculating my gpa on 12/4 I think I sent them around 12/18 after the semester ended!

Hi everyone! I am also applying to UTMB fall 2013. Does anyone know if they are looking at your overall GPA or overall for the prerequisite classes they require? I am a bit nervous I made a 75.3 on my teas. I crammed 2 days prior lol bad idea!

When I went to the open house they made it seem like they look at your all over gpa and your science gpa most importantly, they also don't like it it you've retaken a bunch of classes, don't feel do bad about your teas I tried to really study and I only got a 79! Hope this info helps good luck to ya!

Lol glad to see i 'm not the only one who crammed for the teas test

OMG! I went to disney world for 10 days and came home the day before Christmas. The day after Christmas reality hit me that I had a test in 2 days lol I def. want to re take it for the other school I am applying to. How did you do on the exam if you don't mind me asking.

I have a question?

I was looking ahead on the tuition and different fees and found this graph that has a price of all of the classes, and editional fee's that the students must pay. I guess i just want to know if this is the actual price of the program or if i'm just looking at it wrong, i thought it was going to be so much more expensive, i'd just like to know early because i'm trying to figure out how i'm going to pay for everything.
