UTMB Fall 2013

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hello! I searched the site and seen no one made a topic about the people trying to enter in Fall 2013 so here is it  I am applying to UTMB for Fall 2013. I've written my personal statement and filled in the application. Now i'm waiting on nursing CAS to receive all my transcripts and to take my TEAS test on Jan. 8. I'm so nervous. How is everyone else coming along?

yea sounds like to me they want to be sensitive to everyone trying to get in, which jan 15 was an early deadline. sigh well hopefully we all still make it

I just hate now we have to wait even longer to find out!!!! Does anyone thing it will help me because I have all the classes finished my gpa and teas scores aren't that great so I was hoping that could be to my advantage! Anyone going to the open house February 9th?

I will be there :c)

It may help that you have completed your prerequisites but I am not sure. I only have 50 hours complete but I also have a 4.0 GPA. I was short 4 classes that I am taking now to finish. What were your TEAS scores? I think many people feel like they are on a 100 point scoring system but that is not really the way it works. I only had an 82.7 and some people have higher scores than mine but I was told mine is really competitive.

I thought the UTMB program application deadline was in line with other programs in the area. I still have a my fingers and toes crossed to get in though!

Ugh that's upsetting news. I was really hoping that not enough people applied. Wishful thinking, eh? Hopefully those of us who don't have impressive GPAs managed to write personal statements that stood out and we score an interview!

I mean my scores aren't that bad but I do feel like they are pretty average I have a 3.54 overall and a 3.8 science gpa, and I made a 79% on the teas. I know people say you shouldn't compare scores because a lot of it has to do with the person, but I'm just hoping its good enough! We shall see!

Hi Megan,

I apologize I know I'm on the wrong thread, as I'm applying to start for the accelerated track. However, I was hoping you could answer some questions for me. I have set up my interview time, and I feel as if I'm prepared, and your posts detailing the interview are comforting- but is there anything else I should know about the process?

Also, about how long after the interview can we expect to hear an admissions decision. I know it differentiates for each applicant, but just kind of an about? I'm so very anxious and I hope that I am qualified enough.

Thanks for your time!

I signed up :-) the only thing is I have chemistry lab on Saturdays starting next week. If we don't have a scheduled exam on that date I will go. I am keeping my fingers crossed that a test does not fall on that date

You can ask your interviewer if they have an idea of how long out will take to hear back from them. It depends on who you're interviewing with. Mine was straight forward and walked me through the admissions process. I was told 2-4 weeks and they were right on the money, but it really depends on when they can get the admissions panel together to review as a group. If something comes up, there might be a delay...it just never hurts to ask!

Also, a good tip is to send a thank you email or letter post interview. Mine wrote back saying that they were meeting soon to discuss, which gave me a better idea of the time frame.

Take a deep breath. All of the staff members are really nice and want you to succeed. Good luck!

do anyone know for open house do you have to be there at 9 or can you come anytime between 9 and 12 because i was trying to take my TEAS that same day at 8 to 12?

Yay! Finally received my supplemental application. I can't wait for my mystar info :-)

@tessthebest Average?! I am incredibly envious of your 3.8 science GPA, girl! Way to go! :)
