UTMB Fall 2012

U.S.A. Texas

Published

HI! I am applying for the traditional BSN program at UTMB that starts Fall 2012. I am taking my TEAS this friday and I wanted to know if anyone else here is applying for the same semester. Hopefully there are others so I don't have to be nervous alone!! :D

Did you guys find out any information about your scholarships? Also, who all has been accepted by other schools and is trying to decide which school to go to? Just curious and starting up conversation because I can't stop checking this board :)

amautmb,

Yes we found out a little about the scholarships! I have been accepted to TWU and am waiting to hear from UTHSC. As soon as I have an official confirmation from TWU I will notify UTMB that I will not be filling my spot. So to you guys out there waiting for interviews or acceptance, there is one more spot available!

hey guys, Congrats on everyone who've been accepted!!

i'm scheduled for an interview this week and i'm super excited but also worried. I've been following this forum for the past few months now... biting my nails, waiting for an interview and i finally got one! i know most of ya'll been getting interviews/acceptance letters for the past few months. my gpa is a 3.5 and i have an TEAS score of 84. Do you guys have any tips, those of y'all that have been accepted, to do well on my interview and stand out among the mass? TY!

I was accepted and your GPA is only .1 less than mine and I only scored a 76.7 on my TEAS! So you should be fine:)! I would be more than happy to offer you some tips or answer any questions you have about the interview if I am not too late! Just let me know!

Hi guys. I'm new, been watching for a bit now. My husband interviewed March 13th and hasn't heard anything--was told 2-3 weeks. (Today makes 3 weeks and 2 days.) We aren't going crazy or anything!! I joined here to see if I could find more info. He's called, emailed... no response. Thoughts? :)

I still haven't recieved anything yet. I interviewed March 5th.

Have you heard anything at all?

Hi jlmcjunkins!

I haven't heard anything at all. No rejection/acceptance. I tried calling and left a message but still no answer. I wonder how we know if we've possibly made the wait list. I'm going to e-mail now. If you hear anything let me know please! Thank-you. :)

will do. Does your MyStar stuff say anything odd when you log in? His mentions his "courses in progress" issue, but that shouldn't be a problem (and someone else here had been accepted while still enrolled elsewhere). I'm concerned because it says that, but if we click on the Accept Admission button, it says he has no applications.

Hey guys, I called earlier in the week and was told the generic response that not all decisions have been made. I asked if we should expect to hear in days, weeks, or months, and she told me weeks. Still pretty vague but better than nothing!

oh good lawd. don't your background checks take ~4 months-ish? They wait any longer and then those will have problems. I know how I sound right now and I'm sorry. I'm trying to find a job there and it isn't going so well--and since they're taking their sweet time, I dunno if I should keep on searching or put it on hold, etc. I guess we're all in the same boat, eh? :)

Specializes in Peds.

Hi! I'm in the Spring class that started this semester... Background checks do not take 4 months... I think at most 2-4 weeks...

good to know. I misunderstood what I'd previously read. Thanks! :)

Yes I have accepted already and It still shows "courses in progress" but that is because I AM currently enrolled in my last 15 hours. So did he get accepted? If so you should be able to accept admission on mystar and if you are having issues I would call.

Thank you, Eric and Sarah. I also had the interview on March 7, but I haven't heard anything either. Somehow I don't think I did good on the interview cuz I was really sick that day; I just answered the questions kind of too straightforward, and I never worked in a hospital neither had a community service because I am on a student visa and there is a restriction for me to work in this country, and also when they asked me if I was qualified for any financial aids, I told them no because I am on the visa, I am not a US citizen or a residence. I am so worried...
