Dec 4, '09I def. recommend on getting on the waiting lists asap, zone 4 is not bad, but i cant wait til zone 3, only 321 more people to go . you do not need to take books to class, only 1 for lab, unless otherwise stated by professor.
Can some one tell me the orientation schedule please, im planning to have a table to recruit members for HSNA.
nmy30: u dont need to have a bachelors unless you want to be in accelerated program, many of us just have associates in science, i had volunteered, some ppl hadnt volunteer n still got in...Last edit by tnbutterfly on Dec 4, '09 : Reason: PLEASE DO NOT POST EMAIL ADDRESSES

Dec 5, '09Yay Kristy! Hope everyone else has had the same luck with getting that fixed.
Anyone still on for coffee???
Dec 6, '09I also got into the generic program for spring 2010. I was looking into the books the school says that you need and JUST the required ones were $742 and that was provided I could find them all used!! it was like a total of 13 books or something crazy. I'm just wondering if there's anyone on here that has already completed the first semester to let me know which ones to get and which ones I won't really need because thats a lot of money!! I've heard that you don't need all of them, and that some professors don't teach out of the book, just lecture notes.
Please and thank you!
Dec 7, '09Im in 1st semester right now, and you dont need any of the pharm books, you do need the fundamentals book, didnt use the med-surg book, you do not need the lab reference book unless needed for your clinical instructor, and you need the bates book for lab, you do need the drug guide book...i think thats it...
can someone post the orientation schedule?
Dec 7, '09I got the dreaded zone 5! They already have a waitlist for zone 4...but i am number 41 so it shouldn't be to horrible. Just letting you know in case you were able to make it down there before orientation.
Also Mar4... do you have to pay for the shuttle from zone 5 to the school.
Only 30 days till school!
Dec 7, '09Quote from mar4Thanks!You do not have to pay for the shuttle...
Dec 7, '09Are all the clinicals really full already?? I really wanted the 1.30pm >.< The only one I can see open is Wed 6:30AM - 3:30PM =|
Edit - Nevermind. Didn't realize there was more than one page..
Dec 8, '09Good luck everyone still taking classes on your finals! I just had my first one today and my last one on Thurdays.
Dec 14, '09All,
I just wanted to let you all know that i have made it to San Antonio!!! It was a dreadful travel day greater than 24 hours from Japan! Ugh!
Can't wait to meet everyone. I am hoping to make it up to the school tomorrow to get a badge, and parking pass.
Dec 14, '09Quote from AznPlayR99I have a question. For NURS 3209 (Professional Nursing), our book list says we needBond2b - honestly all i did was go to class take good notes and I did fine. First semester for 3802 and 3312 (i'm 3rd semester right now) the tests really came from the notes and lecture so I didn't read the book much. You will have a different teacher for 3209 and for the most part people have read the chapters for that class
Books, I would refrain from buying ALL of the books some are not really needed (sorry I don't have your book list or i'd tell you some that are useless). Clinicals are not really bad first semester you basically get assigned one patient and as a first semester you are basically a tech (bed baths and vital signs)and towards the middle to end you get to hand out meds... You basically do a care plan a week which is awkward at first but you will get used to it as the semester goes along.
Elsevier and Mosby are the same thing from what I've gathered. I've found two books that are similar to this description on , but neither matches it.
The First is at http://www.amazon.com/Fundamentals-N...p_ob_title_bk\
Mosby; 7 edition (December 5, 2008)
The other is at http://www.amazon.com/Fundamentals-N...pr_product_top
Mosby; 7 edition (March 20, 2008)
The description the book list gives implies theirs yet another revision for 2009 (Edition:7TH 09) that we are supposed to get, which just amazes me that they can do updates every 6 months!
Does anyone know which of these we are supposed to get? It would be nice if we could get any edition as I can't imagine the content could change significantly within 3 revisions of the same edition of one textbook. Then again, there is a 300 page difference between those two...
