UTHSC-Houston Spring 2013

Hi,

I am new to allnurses.com and I wanted to start a topic for the Spring 2013 applicants at UTHSC Houston. Where we can keep each other posted on the process as it nears. I have yet to take the HESI but i wonder if anyone else has taken it and what their score was. I will compile my GPA's later and post them on here.

Thanks Oceanise :) ... I am just worried I still need micro and chemistry those are two of the classes I haven't taken lol, but will definetly take them by the spring term so I can be ready.

thanks :) transferrable GPA is just the gpa of the courses that they accept for transfer :)

where are you taking your prereqs?

Dr. Hebel at HCC is awesome for Micro, but her classes fill up within 10 minutes of open registration

Oh okay lol.

I am taking my prereqs at my community college in the Starr Coutny but after I finish this semester I plan to moving out to Houston. I have heard that UTHSC is a one of the top ranking Universitys.

According to U.S News they are #21 in the nation and #1 in Texas. Definitely a competitve program and worth the work getting in.

That is great! Yea it is worth. Do you know which electives do they accept does communications count as one?

I believe as long as it's an academic course it will apply as an elective.

from the prerequisite transfer guide: ** Elective requirement: Nursing, remedial and physical education courses are not acceptable to fulfill this requirement.

I took Human Sexuality and Medical Terminology. I figured even though they are electives it would help me to take courses in the health field.

Hey everyone! I've been reading around this thread for a while now and decided I should post here as well. Anyway, I applied for Spring 2013 RN to BSN program and got my acceptance email yesterday. It says that I need to login to MyUTH portal to accept or decline admission, but I can't find the link. My admission status is still showing as a green circle (better than that yellow triangle I had yesterday). I had some issues with my transcript as well, btw, and it still worries me a little. Hopefully we get our answers soon. Congrats to everyone else! :)

Oh okay I am taking Medical Terminology this semester, and have taken speech as well I am guessing they will count is as a elective.

UT used my general bio class and one of my math classes (not statistics) as electives. But I had a good amount of other classes that they could've used. You need at least 5 credits of electives, which are just classes other than your nursing prereqs
