Chelle! We need to talk! Lol. I'm about to die over here. Tired of waiting day after day!
I know right! Well if we are waiting till December, I may lose it! Haha! It's nerve racking! I only applied to UT. So I'm waiting to see if I can start in spring or have to wait till fall! So I am truly staying positive! I think it's just a test of our patience! :-)

I'm with you girl. Almost exact same stats as you. 4.0 preq and a 95 on the hesi. I thought, I was in for sure. But guess not, I'm still excited about being waitlisted, I have hope but I'm a nervous wreck daily now! If not ill be taking my teas and applying to UTHSC again and also TWU and UTMB. We might be going through this together again. But I think we are fine! :-) fingers crossed we will all be in class together in jan!

Hi all, I'm going to take HESI this Dec. I feel very very nervous. My GPA is ok, so HESI test is what I'm really concerned now; especially Critical Thinking section as I have no idea how to study and I never have any experience with nursing work before. And does any one know if we can send in the transcript through mail or we have to do that electronically? Thank you

The CT is not that hard.. I didn't even know it was on there when i took the exam--and got an 850, which is not great, but it worked. What's your gpa if you don't mind me asking? And transcripts have to be official. I just went to HCC and paid the dues and they sent it for me-- i think it was electronically

Thanks Cynthiap101. My current GPA is 3.9. I'm still having classes to take though. Btw, I think that's a good score on CT. I just hope my score will meet the requirement. I'm applying for Fall semester, not this Spring. This semester seems to go well so hopefully I can boost up my GPA a little bit. As far as HESI, I've been studying from Elsevier Study Guide, but the book doesn't seem to cover very well the whole test as Vocab portion is so limited, Critical thinking portion isn't on the book also. Plus, I don't feel very confident with my reading because I used to study for ACT/SAT and reading was the part I struggled the most.

The critical thinking section isn't too hard. You can usually eliminate 2 of the choices right away, then you'd just have to figure out which of the remaining 2 is the best answer. I didn't prepare for it and scored an 850. Even if I did prepare, there's only so much you can really do. Some people used the book "Fundamental's Success" though. I do have a copy of this book but didn't look through it until after the HESI... it might be helpful because it gives you an idea of the types of questions that you'll see on the test. Either way, I honestly wouldn't stress about the CT section that much.

The Elsevier study guide is definitely the best resource for the math/grammar/reading comp sections, and even the vocab section is pretty helpful. If you want an additional resource, search for HESI vocab on quizlet.com and you'll find some flashcard sets. For A&P, I'd recommend the book "E-Z Anatomy and Physiology."

The school prefers you to submit your transcript electronically, but it's perfectly find if you send it through the mail. Just make sure it's an official copy, which you'll have to buy from your school.

    Good luck!
