UT Tyler Spring '13 Admission

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Anyone out there applied for Spring 2013 admission to UT Tyler? I'm actually doing the Accelerated Program, but would love to hear from anyone about their points and how they feel about their application! I'm dying to find out if I got in! 10 days til the deadline, and then I'll be checking my email every half hour for the next 6 weeks, I'm sure. :)

I don't think it's for our class. Someone make a page. I think the advisors are only there on certain days b/c mine said she's usually there on Wednesday and Thursday so be patient I guess idk. Hope y'all hear back from them though. I did my CPR class in Plano over the summer and paid like 30 I think and it was like 2 hrs I think. Google places you'll find some

My adviser emailed me back. I learned that the number of students that applied to the program and were accepted are currently confidential. Darn, I was curious on the statistics and where I lay in them.

I took the Texas Heart CPR class in Plano. It was 35$ cash and I would say it's about 2 hours. I would definitely renew my BLS here.

I don't see why it's confidential...

But anyways thats where I took my CPR class too. The lady is really nice and they have a special this week - its only $25!

Do any of you know where you can get Meningitis shots for cheaper than $130-$150? Let me know if any of you do pls and I have no insurance either.

I will def look into some of those places! Thanks for the tips!

As far as a Facebook page, I wont be able to create an account but I'll def join if someone else makes one.

Im trying to schedule a visit to Tyler ASAP so I will be sure to look into places and let yall know what happens.

I ended up emailing my advisor again so we will see how long it takes.

I think between 80-90 people got accepted.

As far as shots go, I really have no idea. There are community clinics around that sometimes offer shots, its just a matter of finding them.

The County health department has all the other shots for $25 if you don't have insurance. they don't cover meningitis though, but I think it's $115 for Tarrant county. We need to make an appointment with our advisor and ****** ******, right? Also my advisor emailed me back, I don't know if y'all were already told this but DO NOT BUY Skyescape. She says we're not using it this year.

Oh that's great. One less thing to pay for. And if you really wanted to know how many ppl got accepted, all you need to do is count the number of ppl in the correction acceptance letter email we got from TC

My parents and I are driving to Tyler tomorrow to look at apartments and a house!! I think I'll try to go ahead and meet with my advisor as well if he has time. I'll let y'all know what I find out!! :)

I don't see why it's confidential...

That's what I was told. :(

Yes, we make an advising appointment, a urine drug screening scheduled by ****** ******, and we also schedule that BON criminal background check. And thanks for telling us about Skyscape. I already emailed my adviser about it before I saw this post though and haven't received a reply yet.

I do really want to know...I counted 89 (myself included in the 89, of course).

On another note, I feel like housing at UTTyler is more expensive than UTA.

Housing at UTA is pretty decent. I don't see why Tyler would be more though cause Tyler seems just as cheap as Arlington with some pricier places obviously. Idk I guess we'll see

I think Tyler is more if we're talking about on-campus housing. Ornelas seems to be their only residence hall, and their cheapest option is $5679/year for a double occupancy (I'm going by academic year instead of semester). That's more than KC hall, which I believe is the most expensive hall at $5412.05/year for a private. Please tell me I'm wrong and that Tyler is definitely cheaper when it comes to on-campus housing!

Tyler does have cheaper tuition though, if I remember correctly.

Does anyone know if we need to purchase the student manual for the CPR training course. I've registered to take mine tomorrow and the lady on the phone said it's recommend, but i'm not sure if it's a waste of money to buy one..

Opps. Didnt know about the whole not using name thing :speechless:

I feel like the average tuition is higher for UTA compared to Tyler...just that housing might be more expensive at Tyler. In the end might weigh out to be the same.
