UT Southwestern GN Internship

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi All,

Just submitted my application to UT Southwestern's GN internship program beginning in July 2015. Hoping for the critical care or ER track. Has any one else applied? Will they be hiring more applicants this year due to their new facility? Any help would be appreciated!

I will definitely be following this post as I am wondering the same thing. I graduated last May, passed boards in July, and then had to help my family with some of their own health issues. And now I am having a really hard time trying to find a residency or internship. I'm not sure if it's my age or bc this is my 2nd career. I would love to work at UTSW.

They have some intern positions at Methodist Dallas they posted that start March 23rd! Check those out!

I currently work at the new CUH (on bone marrow transplant floor). And yes, we have a number of positions to fill, especially in ER and ICU! I would imagine they will be willing to take on a few new grads. Good luck!

Hello! I'm working on my application right now but I'm having major issues with using a compatible browser. All the ones that are compatible (Internet Explorer 7 and 8, Safari 5 and 6) are old versions & I can't seem to figure out how to get them on my computer. I've contacted the IT department but they haven't been able to help so far. Has anyone else had this issue or know how to fix it?

I had the same issue using firefox 35.0.1. Had to open up my old Safari 5 for me to be able to attach documents to my application (resume, CV, ect). Try that if you can.

How were you able to open your old safari though? Since the OS X version I am using is the newest version it isn't compatible with the old safari 5, do you know what I'm saying?

It's because the Dallas-area nursing employment market has had a surplus of nurses for several years. In other words, the area hospitals are inundated with applications from too many new nurses when not enough job openings exist for all who would like to work.

I work in Fort Worth. Several of my coworkers are newer nurses who live in Dallas, but commute to FW because they were not receiving callbacks from hospitals located closer to their homes.

@Grad2015: Yes I do know what you're saying. Luckily for me, I am using my macbook laptop that I bought in 2007 or 2008 (don't remember). So I have really outdated software and operating system. I had switched to firefox and that didn't work for the application so I reverted back to Safari 5. I guess I got kinda lucky. I don't know what else to tell you. Maybe try to find someone who has an older laptop? Or download a compatible browser? Wish I could help more!

I went to the IT department at my school & they were able to let me use an old Macbook that they had, thank goodness! I submitted my application & now I'm just waiting to hear something! :)
