Is anyone applying to UHV second degree BSN spring 2013?

It's going to be the ID number from the UHV email. It will take about two days until you will receive the email. The email will have instructions for you to follow to set everything up.

thanks for the info! :)

Ok, I am having trouble logging into myUHV. I did the steps for the email. I was not able to choose the email option, as it said the page was expired, so I followed the second option. It works when I login to the email, but only when I use the ID number as the username, followed by @uhv.edu. It won't work when I type in the user name in the format of lastnamefirstintial ect--it says the account does not exist. But when I login using the ID number, the welcome email gives my ID in the name format, but it won't work with that info! UGH, it is frustrating!

Also, when I went to request new password for the myUHV, I am able to enter the info and it says it will email my uhv email account, but it hasn't. Anyone having these issues?

I was having the same issue! It was extremely frustrating.

For the email: You are going about it the right way using your ID# rather than your actual lastnamefirst [email protected]. I confirmed this with the Tech center so don't worry, you're ok there!

For UHV: Since I am a UH alumni, I actually had it set-up to where my emails were forwarding to my designated email I set-up a long time ago but I wasn't receiving anything. The tech center said that it takes about a day for you to get into the admissions system. I would possibly wait. If it still doesn't work, then call the Tech center. They are pretty helpful. You're not alone, had the same issues! Good luck!

Thanks for the info, adrianneee!!!

Everything seems to be working as it should, all except in login in name still being a number--I still don't really understand why that is the way it is :)

I was able to get into the myUHV to do list, so all is well. I might just contact the Tech center and see if they can explain why my username is not working, only the user number.

Thanks again!

Yes my username is not working as well only the user number. Im guessing we are suppose to be using the number :/

Only my user number works too which took me a while to figure out. Do you guys have the menengitis vaccine on your to do list. It says the due date isn't until January so I am guessing that is something we don't need to do until after we find out if we have been accepted. Or have you done it already?

I had already had the vaccine this year, so I just forwarded the info to UHV. But I did notice the due date was in January, so maybe it is possible to wait. Either way, all programs/universities in TX now require the vaccine for students under 30 who attend on-campus classes as of Jan 2012.

Hey guys! I'm a member of the 2012 cohort and we're ready to graduate! It's just 30 days away. :)

We're all really excited to meet y'all on 11-26. Please BE EARLY. Our professors really look down on people who walk in late!! In our program "if you're on time, you're late!" So please plan on being there 20ish minutes early to ensure that you're registered and seated by go time!

Another important thing is to bring your student number and password PRINTED OUT ON A PIECE OF PAPER. If you, for whatever reason, forget your number, fudge your password, etc... That'll be a huge mark against you. The "essay" is actually a test to see if you can successfully follow directions and attach a document to an e-mail and then send it. You'll need to be able to log into your UHV email to do this. Don't leave it up to chance! You'll be nervous and stressed out on interview day. The last thing you want is to be flustered and upset over something you could have prevented very simply.

To address the meningitis question, you can wait on vaccines! As long as you're all finished and have all the documentation by the start of clinicals, you'll be fine!! Of course, as a nurse, I should advise you that vaccines are always a good idea, whether you're in nursing school or not. ;)

If y'all have any questions, I'll monitor the board up until you get your acceptance letters! Good luck!! And remember to smile and let your personality shine through!!

We are all so excited to meet y'all during the interview. One piece of advice I can give...make yourself known and stand out on interview day. Another piece of advice...find people you click with and build relationships from day 1! I met three people on interview day and we are like BFFs now! Plus so many more new friends. It really is a great experience! Work hard, try your best, and good luck C/O 2013!!

Thanks FizzyLime and dman for the advice!

Can either of you tell me when classes started for you? I cannot find this info. anywhere!

Thanks fizzylime and dman for that information!

I do have a question :)

What was the schedule like? For example, was the first semester all classroom/labs? Or is everything integrated together throughout the whole program? And, what about the hours? I know it is a full time commitment but I am just wondering, is it going to be like leaving your house every morning at 6 and not getting home until like 12 hours later 5x a week? I know all of this will be explained at some point, but just thought I would ask to see if ya'll could give some insight.

Thanks in advance, and congratulations on completing the program!
