I admire your perseverance! Study study study for the TEAS - the prep book on the ATI website does wonders to prepare you. Do you mind if I ask how many of the first attempt bumps you have?
Yeah I got to keep at it! I have that book and I studied for it last time but I think I just get nervous before the test and I changed alot of my answers. They always say go with the first one you choose. I always overthink things. And first attempt bumps meaning retaken classes? Only chemistry and I believe a history class.
Hi, for the 110 students, which TWU campus are you referring to?
Dallas.

I love the discussion y'all been having. I think its very productive;ive benefited from the numerous opinions and advices posted by complete strangers. :-) what a wonderful world.
Im studying the TEAS V, today 6/21/2012 is my fist day, I jumped to a section that i believe is challenging to me , the earth and physical sciences.........very sleepppyyy but highly motivated, my mind says "lets do one more hour" but my body is like " no way jose". on a sad note the body has won the battle tonight...lol, but the war is far from over...zzzzzzzzzzzzzz. I wish you all the best and share your experience studying the TEAS if you get a chance

The first attempt bumps are extra "points" they look at when evaluating your application. They look at 4 classes, giving you and opportunity to have 4 extra points. Those classes are A&P I, A&P II, Micro, and Stat. If you made an A in any of those the first time you took them, you get an extra point. I made B's on A&P I and II, but A's in Micro and Stat so I will get 2 out of the 4 possible points.
Hope that helps clarify it a bit for you.

Yeah I knew that they looked at those four, but I had no idea they give extra points. That's pretty cool. When is everyone taking the TEAS?

Hey guy's I haven't logged on in a while and it seems like I missed some good conversations. I plan and hope to take my TEAS in August since the application is due in September I hope that's not to late also for those of y'all that took the exam already what do you recommend to use as a study guide?
Good luck to you! I am using the TEAS study manual from the ATI website. It seems pretty good! Try looking for it on half.com

If you don't mind me asking what do you think is the reason for you not getting accepted. My friend had almost the same stats as you a GPA of 3.7 and a 74 on the TEAS and she got accepted this past Fall. I mean do they tell you as to why you didn't get accepted or do you have an idea? :)

But I also retook a class now to get a higher GPA. And did your friend apply to the Dallas or Houston one? Because the Dallas one is far more competitive since it has a lot more applicants. You have to remember, each semester more and more students apply. Also, no they don't tell you why you didn't get it. They do give you a few pointers though if you email them to ask.

I see she applied to the Denton campus back in Fall 2012 and am guessing there's a lot of factors that come into play. Good luck with everything :)
Denton doesn't have a nursing program, it's only Dallas.
