Hey guys! I wanted to start a forum for us twu spring 2012 hopefuls!

About me

I have a 3.2, yikes! :sofahider, and after this summer it should come up to a 3.6 or 7 and I am studying my butt off for the teas and will only have 3 more classes after that to take. I have gotten into the university as the first step, but I am so worried about getting into the nursing program, fingers crossed :uhoh3:

Oh, the nervous beginnings of Nursing students! I was in your shoes, starting TWU courses in 1991.)

If I can suggest something. For those courses that you think you may not need to buy a book for,

look for an older edition of the same book they recommend for the course on eBay. I have found several

that I gave as a gift to a friend that was just beginning a healthcare career. You can usually pick up an

old edition for between six and 15 dollars...a far cry from the bookstore, even used bookstore prices.

You have to look a bit, and check out what condition they say the book is in, but it can be a very helpful

source. That way you have a reference book to go along with lectures, but don't necessarily have to

have the newest book. Good luck to all of you....what a journey it is!

Hi everyone I know that all decisions have been made for this semester do this forum may be dead, but I'm hoping that someone will be able to see this and help me. I'm wondering when you guys applied, how far in advance did you send in your general application for the university? And how long did it take them to accept you since being accepted to the university is a condition of even being able to apply to the nursing application. The deadline is approaching and I'm wondering what my chances are. Thanks everyone!

Hi LavenderButterfly,

TWU actually suggests that you apply to the university at least 6 weeks prior to the CON deadline, which is Feb. 1. I submitted my app and transcripts Dec. 14; however, it took a month before everything was accepted, and I received acceptance status to the university.

hello, i will be applying for spring 2013. i have around a gpa of 3.7 and i'm taking ap 1 right now and and ap 2 in the summer. hopefully i'm shooting for a's in both of them so i can get 3 out of 4 preferences. i came upon your post and i'm so impressed you scored a 92.6% on your teas test. good job!!! :) i am so nervous for my teas, i am not a good test taker i just don't like them. i heard for the selection process they take any scores of 80 or above and a gpa no less than 3.8 is this true??? i was wondering how did you prepare for the teas and which study guide did you use, there's so many out there i just recently ordered the mcgraw hill version. please let know if you don't mind. i would really appreciate it. i'm not sure if you have already found out if your in the program. i wish you the best. good luck! :)
