TWU Fall 2013 Applicants

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hello everyone!

I am starting this thread... a year early. That is how much I want to be accepted into the Fall 2013 BSN program at TWU in Dallas. I am taking my TEAS on August 30 so that if I have to, I can take it again the following application period (after September 1). I have finished my prerequisites (last week of Summer AP2 right now, hurray).

I hope other people see this forum so that we can all talk and encourage each other about getting into the program (and be stressed out together)! Seriously hoping that this next year flies by! I Look forward to get to know other hopefuls!

Hey there , good luck on your TEAS. I am also looking at TWU Dallas. It seems like a great program and I went to the Open House in May and the facilities were awesome. I am still trying to decide between the traditional program vs. the weekend program. I have a full time job right now, so not sure if I can afford to stop working and take on more student loans.

Where are you doing your pre-reqs ? Tarrant County here.

The Dallas building looks so beautiful from the highway - I've never been inside though ha. I'm only applying to TWU, it's the only school I want to go to.

I don't know how I could handle nursing school and working full-time but I also have a 6 month old so... yeah. My husband and I are going to stretch every penny these next 3 years.

Right now I am going to NCTC Corinth. I just had amnesia because actually I'm not done with my prerequisites - I start Microbiology this Fall, THEN I'm done. Lack of sleep, too much studying...my brain...

Have you already taken TEAS? If so how'd you do?

Good Luck to you all! I'm currently in the program right now, and I absolutely love it! You will love the faculty. They made me love nursing so much more :-)

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

What year are you into the program?! That's awesome what were your stats getting in? Are you super busy all the time or do you still have a little time for family and friends? And where is your clinical and do you like it?

I am planning on applying to TWU as well but the Houston location. :) I was just wondering if anyone knew if you should apply to the University for the summer session or fall 2013 since there may be summer classes involved before the start of the program? Also, does it matter if you take the TEAS before the fall 2013 application is open? Or do your scores just sit in a file until you apply?

Good luck to everyone! :)

Hey, you can take the TEAS V once per application period, so you can use your scores from an application period prior. Call and check just to make sure though. As far as applying for summer, I didn't know that you could. I think the only class you can take prior to beginning nursing school is Pathophysiology - someone correct me if I'm wrong :-)

Oh okay sounds like a good idea! haha I just wasn't sure if they held onto them or not (really dont want to pay any extra money to have to resend scores). I think I was thinking of the summer thing because I am also applying to UT Tyler and they make you apply to the university first as well and for the summer session because you have to take a few classes before starting the nursing program. I wasn't sure if it was that way for TWU or not as well.

Hey jenny2014 - I take the TEAS on August 30th as well! I'm nervous; I just got the ATI Study Guide so I'll be doing that over the next week and I start micro on the 27th. My stats if I finish micro with an A (WHICH I'M DETERMINED TO), will be a 3.569 no TWU bump; but with passing micro with an A I will have 4/4 of the First Attempt As. I'm determined to rock this TEAS V too. haha :)

Hello! I am also taking the TEAS V on August 30 at 9 am! I am super nervous too, but I have the study guide and have been doing a little studying everyday to prepare. I am taking it early too just in case I want to improve my score before the Feb 1 deadline for Fall 2013. I visited the campus and it is absolutely beautiful! The faculty and staff that talked to us were all very nice and encouraging which made me want to go there that much more. I was trying to decide between the traditional and weekend program since I already have a bachelor's degree, but I think I'm gonna go with the traditional so I can have a full summer off! Good luck to everyone taking the TEAS V soon, and I'm sure I will see a couple of you on August 30th!
