TWU Fall 2013 Applicants

Hello everyone!

I am starting this thread... a year early. That is how much I want to be accepted into the Fall 2013 BSN program at TWU in Dallas. I am taking my TEAS on August 30 so that if I have to, I can take it again the following application period (after September 1). I have finished my prerequisites (last week of Summer AP2 right now, hurray).

I hope other people see this forum so that we can all talk and encourage each other about getting into the program (and be stressed out together)! Seriously hoping that this next year flies by! I Look forward to get to know other hopefuls!

Haha, other than my sister, I haven't at all! I think more people apply to the Dallas location because it is closer to the Denton campus. I hope we get in too! The suspense is killing me! I don't think I can wait till April!

You should talk to an advisor. I spoke with an advisor this week and she told me the stats of the Houston campus and what my chances of getting in were according to certain criteria they look at such as GPA, TEAS, 1st attempt on Micro, Stats, AP I & II, and if you have a previous bachelor. It's not particularly one thing but the overall picture. Talk to an advisor in your area and they will help you.

Why don't you just see an advisor? It's not worth it to stress over your question when you could have it answered by an advisor who will tell you where you stand based on this past semester's applicant pool.

I know I can't wait either! Top of that, I still have to take HESI... I wanted to finish taking everything before Christmas so that I will enjoy my holidays, but I guess it's not gonna happen! I have questions about UTMB though. Are we supposed to hear from UTMB after submitting the application through nursingcas? I submitted mine like a week ago, and my transcript is all calculated. But I haven't heard anything from UTMB. So, I was wondering if there is something I have to do after submitting the application?

Yes! UTMB is supposed to send you a supplemental application. You should be getting it soon if not I would call to check on it. I am still really behind with their application process because I had to wait for my fall grades to be posted so I haven't even sent in my NursingCAS application yet. Haha

I am new to the thread. I just submitted my application to TWU Dallas for Fall 2013. I can't wait until the wait is officially over. I just finished all my prerequisites this semester. I was told by the Admissions Coordinator this summer that based on previous acceptances into the program, a 3.7 GPA, 3/4 A's on 1st Attempts, and 80% on TEAS V are competitive.

My stats are:

GPA Cum: 3.69

TEAS V: 86.7%

4/4 A's on 1st Attempts

Previous Bachelor Degree

Yes! UTMB is supposed to send you a supplemental application. You should be getting it soon if not I would call to check on it. That was funny that I got a letter from UTMB after I posted a comment. Now, I can submit the supplemental application online. :)

So, I just got an email back from the new Admissions Coordinator at TWU Dallas. She said that the current stats for the Spring 2013 accepted students were as follows on average: 3.82 GPA and 82% TEAS V. She did not say anything about the Preferences. My GPA is below the average (stupid history and govt). However, she said I am still pretty competitive....still makes me nervous.

I talked to an advisor on Friday. She looked up someone with very similar stats as mine that was accepted for the Spring, and that person was last on the accepted list! EEk.

4/4 A's

GPA: 3.596 (stupid history/government lol)

TEAS: 84.7

I think I'm going to take the TEAS V again.
