TWU Fall 2013 Applicants

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hello everyone!

I am starting this thread... a year early. That is how much I want to be accepted into the Fall 2013 BSN program at TWU in Dallas. I am taking my TEAS on August 30 so that if I have to, I can take it again the following application period (after September 1). I have finished my prerequisites (last week of Summer AP2 right now, hurray).

I hope other people see this forum so that we can all talk and encourage each other about getting into the program (and be stressed out together)! Seriously hoping that this next year flies by! I Look forward to get to know other hopefuls!

The workload is intense, but if you stay on top of your necessary reading and assignments, and study a little bit every single day, then it's completely doable. :) I had a completely FREE weekend this past weekend, but that's rare and I doubt I'll get it again before spring break. And yes, I did take patho before this semester and I'm so thankful I did!! I HIGHLY recommend doing so, if possible; but I do know you can make it work otherwise. Several of my classmates are taking patho now and they're doing ok. :)

Well that makes me feel ALOT better! Thanks! :)

ambrekai- are you working at all while in school?

I'm not right now, but I'm hoping to get a tech job in the summer that I can transition to PRN once school starts again in the fall. :)

Thank you so much for sharing! I skimmed through your blog, and WOW, what a wake up call. It is so great to get a first hand day-by-day preview from a current nursing student. Sounds like you are doing really awesome though! Keep up the hard work and please continue to share your experiences with us :)

Hi everyone!! I'm a current J1 student at TWU Dallas. Good luck to all of you as you wait for acceptance! It's a rough time but try to remember to relax and breathe - this is the last time you'll be able to do so! ;)

I wish you all the best of luck! I'm here for questions if you have any. :)

So this is kind of a silly question, but have you seen any students with piercings/tattoos? I have tattoos and my ears pierced a couple of times. I am fully expecting to have to wear sleeves the whole time. But I was wondering have you seen any instances of people being told to cover up?

During lecture, the professors don't care whether you have piercings or tattoos visible. But during lab and during clinicals, when you are expected to be in full uniform, you absolutely cannot have any tattoos showing or more than 2 earlobe piercings in. :) Hope that helps!

Well it's almost march....i'm getting anxious!

I have already checked my email twice today!
