TWU Fall 2013 Applicants

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hello everyone!

I am starting this thread... a year early. That is how much I want to be accepted into the Fall 2013 BSN program at TWU in Dallas. I am taking my TEAS on August 30 so that if I have to, I can take it again the following application period (after September 1). I have finished my prerequisites (last week of Summer AP2 right now, hurray).

I hope other people see this forum so that we can all talk and encourage each other about getting into the program (and be stressed out together)! Seriously hoping that this next year flies by! I Look forward to get to know other hopefuls!

@trs7707 I applied to the Dallas campus.

Oh wow, exact same test? I wonder if they give multiple versions or if we are all taking the same test? Well maybe since you have taken it before you can bump up your score a little bit this time around. If I remember correctly, they post the results pretty quickly, so maybe you will find out tonight. Good luck!

I hope so!!! Been checking non stop. Are you taking patho?

Hi everyone, after reading over all the comments i'm pretty nervous about even applying to TWU now. My stats are 2/4 attempts, 3.6 GPA, and aiming for a high grade on the teas (scheduled for this friday 1/28/13). I know am a little late on asking these questions but I figured better late than never. Questions over teas: are you provided a periodic tabele for the chemisty portion? What all was on the english part? I seen alot of people say they recieved a lower score on their practice test than the actual one, by practice test are ya'll talking about the ones in the back of the teas study book or the ones online? Sorry for the random questions but i'm sooo nervous about this exam. please help!!

Do you have the ATI study guide?

nanerz 13, yes I have one. I also purchased Mcgraw-Hill's nursing school entrance exam book. Any suggestions?

The first couple pages of the TEAS V manual tell you what the test will be like, how many questions, etc - oh and rules. So no calculators. The testing is exactly like the ones in the book. Not the same questions but the content is similar. Nothing on my test wasn't in my book. If you want additional information there are loads of threads on the TEAS V on this website - I utilized them and I suggest anyone do the same. Just type in TEAS V in the search engine. Good luck!!!

Oh okay thanks for the information, never thought of actually just typing in TEAS V and seeing what comes up. As for the information about rules and stuff I did read over that, but still didn't see anything about us receiving a periodic table or not.

Oh sorry no periodic table. If you clickbon students there is a pre-nursing students tab click on that and there is a section for TEAS V. Lots and lots of threads.

No your fine no worries... I just wanted to see if we were given atleast that, but we're not :( How did you guys figure out how many protons or AMU of a element has without the table?? I think I might just be thinking too much in depth about all this. Thanks soooo much for the additional info, i'm going to take a look at it right now!!! :)

They give you formulas like converting from celsius to Fahrenheit... they give you the info you need to know you just have to know how to apply it. Just know if they give you the atomic number what would be the number of protons or electrons.

Thanks for all the help, I memorized the formula for celsius & fahrenheit but good to know that they provide the info. Okay, just one more question, this is over english. How can you tell the diff. b/w a simple, compound, complex sentences? Overall, what is a clause? I know that the book states independent/dependent clauses, but it really doesn't help when you have no idea what a clause means!

I have to pass this question to someone else because though English is my strongest subject, I am horrible at explaining it lol. I do know that the ATI manual explains it pretty well. You could google your question too. Sorry :)
