TWU Fall 2013 Applicants

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hello everyone!

I am starting this thread... a year early. That is how much I want to be accepted into the Fall 2013 BSN program at TWU in Dallas. I am taking my TEAS on August 30 so that if I have to, I can take it again the following application period (after September 1). I have finished my prerequisites (last week of Summer AP2 right now, hurray).

I hope other people see this forum so that we can all talk and encourage each other about getting into the program (and be stressed out together)! Seriously hoping that this next year flies by! I Look forward to get to know other hopefuls!

You can take the test online? (I'm thinking at home) Is it possible? I thought it was written? Or is it like the hesi? online in their own location?

Sorry I am new to this!

Thanks!

You can take the tests online wherever you want.

What are y'all talking about?

If you're applying to TWU, there are instructions in the Nursing section about how to go about taking the TEAS V. You cannot take it at home, you must take it at a PSI testing location. It costs $110 to take and there are only a few test dates between now and the Feb 1 deadline, so if you're looking to get into Fall 2013, then you need to get on that right away.

If you're talking about taking a class that's online, then yes, you can take the tests online wherever as long as it says so in the syllabus.

Hi all,

Does anybody know how long it takes for TWU to update the transcript on portal?

Hi all,

Does anybody know how long it takes for TWU to update the transcript on portal?

It only took a couple of days for me, but I applied in the middle of a semester.

Thanks! I guess I will give myself another couple of days and if not, I will call school.

Hi all,

Does anybody know how long it takes for TWU to update the transcript on portal?

I handed mine in today and the secretary told me right now they are looking at a two week wait for it to be updated on the portal. I told her it was for the CON and the deadline was February 1st so she said she'd walk back and give it to some important person who would do it asap, which I'm hoping she did :). That would ruin my whole year if they weren't updated in time.

Anyone know if the TEAS can be taken after submitting the application as long as it's taken and scores are sent before Feb 1?

Yes. You can.

Hello!

I am applying to the campus in dallas. I have really good marks for getting in to El Centro, and i already Have an Associates Degree in General Science.

My GPA for TWU isnt as good as applying to el centro It is a 3.442. But these are all first time I have ever taken these courses. I never took a course multiple times for science. My Chemistry course is a B, and My AP! is a B but my AP II, Micro and other sciences are A's.

Do you guys have any suggestions as to what score I would need to make on the TEAS V to be accepted? What would be a good score to shoot for, and what chance if any I have of getting into the Nursing School? I would dearly love to be accepted to TWU!

Kristina

Thanks nanerz13 for clarifying :)

I talked to someone from admissions a while back and they said to have at least 80-85 on TEAS V so I'm thinking anything above or around would be considered competitive.
