Texas Tech BSN 2 Spring 2013

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi,

I wanted to start a topic for the Spring 2013 applicants for the Texas Tech Second BSN program. Somewhere we can keep each other posted on the process as it nears. I have yet to take the TEAS V but i wonder if anyone else has taken it and what their score was. I have calculated my gpa's and i realize i will have a 3.59 pre-req gpa and a 3.66 science gpa. I am going to apply for the 2013 accelerated program and am very nervous about the upcoming process.

I went to UT Austin and have degree in Kinesiology.

That is great.....@yejin0816 @reod1216, do you all know each other?

Probably not.. ;)

I went to Fort Lewis in Colorado, and havea BA in Psychology.

@Ladybug3- Are you planning on staying in Houston and traveling to the Hill Country just for clinicals? I thought we had to be in Round Rock for labs as well. I ask becasue I am in Hosuton as well, but think I may be moving to New Braunfels before Jaunuary.

ABSN hopefully

I plan on moving to Round Rock. When I called I called for the purpose of having currently having a 20 month old and being 8 months pregnant. The lady I spoke with said nothing about labs. But that doesn't mean she didn't forget to mention that. I will call tomorrow and find out

Well, my score came in. Just like I figured, awful on biology and smokin' on physical science. Overall an 83.3 which they say corresponds to 93rd percentile nationally and 85th percentile for the program type. I'm going to hang in there for tech right now but lawyer/bartender school might be a plan B.

You start classes soon. I got a 92 on the TEAS

How did you study? I am having difficulty on reading.

I just paid for TEAS V and registering time and place tomorrow morning.

I am very nervous since I am not getting good scores from practice tests.

Any hints or study tips for TEAS V?

Thanks! :)

I am nervous because they said everything looks excellent except the fact that I will not have experience with my CNA

I am sure you will be just fine....are you currently enrolled this semester in anything? I am currently taking 3 classes, and will start working at a nursing home.

@SilverLove

I am enrolled in 3 classes as well. I hope to start my CNA program next week. And hopefully I can find a job but I doubt it bc I only have 4 1/2 weeks until I am due and the program is 3 weeks

Anyone have any comparison between the Hesi and Teas?? I did really well on the Hesi, but it seems to be quite a bit easier??

I'm also in 3 classes this semester. Started my CNA class this week and will finish in a couple weeks.
